The owners are amazing ! Daniele picked us up at the airport and dropped us off the next day (there is a fee but it is the best fee I found around) They recommended a near by Restaurant that was great, the food was delicious and the owner a great host. The decoration in the room and breakfast room is Retro, the owners have spent lots of money and time decorating, it looks great !!! We only used this BB for an overnight in Rome to catch an early morning flight from FCO ( Rome's main airport) but.
all reviews » We chose B&B Retro for a one-night layover because of its close proximity to the airport. Our stay at couldn't have been more pleasant. Situated in a quiet neighborhood, it was the perfect rest stop after days of hectic traveling. Our room was nice and clean with a spacious bathroom and small balcony overlooking the garden. Daniele, the owner, was incredibly accommodating and helpful: he drove us to and from the airport, and even brought me my cellphone when I stupidly left it in the room . Daniele and Camilla were incredibly accommodating and friendly. Such a wonderful stay in a town outside of Rome. Close to Fiumicino airport. A long bus, train, subway ride into Rome for adventurers. Daniele and Camilla will make your stay worthwhile. Breakfast is great with homemade baked goods. Beds incredibly comfortable, triple room with private bathroom, with great terrace for morning and evening relaxing. Great value for the money. Thankful for a great place to stay. Just like home. The young hosts were very friendly and helpful and the decor was interesting, reflecting Daniele's interest in music and retro design. They were happy to provide a shuttle to the airport (for less than our taxi to B & B Retro charged). It's a bit out of the way, so it's best to call before you arrive to make sure someone is there to let you in right away. The location is quiet but there is at least one very good restaurant just a couple of blocks away. The best feature of this B&B is the wonderful owner. Daniele was so helpful and knowledgeable. In addition to shuttling us to the airport for a very early morning departure, he recommended a fabulous dining experience within two block of the B&B. And, he loaned us his GPS for our last day in Rome so that we could negotiate the streets of Rome with our car. Nice room with a balcony and very modern and clean accommodation. We used the B&B Retrò twice to stay overnight, flying into and out of the Leonardo da Vinci airport. The hotel gives great value for you money, and is clean and quiet. Even if you don`t need to stay overnight, pay the hotel a visit anyway for a cup of espresso, and a look at the fabulous interior decorations and the owner`s collection of items from the 60`s and 70`s! We will be back!. Very Friendly staff. Hotel is set-up in retro style. We had the Beatles room which was very nice. Beds were comfortable. Breakfast was very nice with fresh baked cakes. The breakfast is in the living room of the owner Daniele. For € 10,- per room you can arrange a transfer form/to the airport. The owner will pick you up from the airport or bring you to the airport himself. Don't have enough positive things to say about this place other than I look forward to staying there again when I visit Roma. Super friendly and flexible staff. This place was super clean and the decoration is unique 70's retro. Nothing in this place is left to chance or mediocre. Best B&B I have every experienced. Not many restaurants nearby - actually we walked around and saw only one (recommended by Danielle) but it was closed until 7:30pm in the weekend evening. Finally we had to walk to supermarket (10-15 mins) and bought some pizza. You pay in cash, no credit cards accepted. Nothing. Limited restaurants available within walking distance. nothing. We would have liked more information on options to get there. We paid for a taxi there and found once arrived that there were less expensive options. the taxi driver did not know where it was and this may have contributed to the expensive fare. Cash only for the room fee, doesn't take credit card, no cash facilities close by, make sure you come with enough cash otherwise it is another taxi fare to a cash machine. A little off the path - off the bus route. - No credit cart payment, only cache - Arm and just sweet breakfast into a sort of common room on a wobbly table - Relatively small room, without office table.
