  We found the staff very friendly and helpful , we wanted to go for dinner in city so the clerk at reception recommended and booked us a lovely restaurant which was exactly what we were looking for .   The Metropole hotel didnt look that much approaching from a distance but did we get a shock when we checked in and saw our rooms,the pool,and the breakfast was amazing. Fantastic hotel - I got a fabulous room at the Metropole Gresham, a beautiful bright big room with an exceptional bathroom.   The hotel staff were excellent throughout our stay and we were able to check in early, before 12, into a large spacious room. The food quality was very good as were the prices. The hotel is only a short walk from the main shopping street in Cork and the surrounding area was quiet. The leisure facilities are good although the locker area needs an up... what people say » grade. Overall the hotel facilities were perfect. - Location is superb, if you don't mind a bit of a hill. There are better hotels in Cork, but for a night out without pricey taxis etc you will be hard beat to find better than this place.
