The staff were extremely helpful and welcoming. I telephoned the night before our arrival, explaining that we were on a very early morning flight. I asked if we would be able to drop off our bags at the hotel. The receptionist encouraged us to come straight to the hotel and arranged an early check-in on arrival. Similarly when we left they let us check out late at 2.00pm. Very centrally located.
all reviews » The Best Western was very close to O'Connell Street which is the main street in Dublin. It is a half a block away so it made it easy to find the city bus tours and the tourism office. The beds were very comfortable which was a definite plus. They also have two guest computers that you can you use for free 24 hours a day. They were sometimes busy, but there was always a chance to use them.We used this hotel as a base for going to the oxegen festival. The bus stop was only minutes walk away and there were plenty of places open late night to grab something to eat on the way home. I thought the 'super soft' beds were going to be a let down, but they really were super soft.. almost too comfortable, hard to get up in the mornings!!!. There were fantastic facilities in the Best Western Academy Plaza. Therewas the bar and resturant, obviously. But also a spar, gym and a gameroom. Also they offered free internet access in the foyer. The roomswere stunning, comfy and clean. Service at the front desk was excellent,especially whenever we needed help with touring the city.the abacus restaurant was fantastic and the staff there were very accomodating. It was very central to O'Connell and easy to find. I would definately stay there again. the beauty salon which we availed of was excellent also. We got an excellent room rate which made this hotel an amazing deal. Just off Connelly St. and a short walk from Temple Bar area. The room was new, clean and modern with a very comfortable bed. Other than that, it was a great hotel to stay at and the staff were very well accomadating!. Only thing i can think of is that the carpet was like something out of fear and loathing in las vegas.. not sure if thats a bad thing though ;-). We had draught lager in the bar which was not good.Well presented buffet breakfast and enjoyed our dinner in Harry's Grill. nothing comes to mind,an excellent all round stay. There was a bit of noise in the reception from building work but we could not hear it in the rooms. just that the bar did not mix drinks. No,. The seats in the Bistro!.
