everything about the room, we love! my wife and i enjoyed the free drinking water and the unlimited coffee. this is not our first time to be out of our country but so far this hostel is the best as the beds and the sheets are clean.we stayed for 2 days and they changed the towels on our 2nd day, that we didn't expect. We were never worried about cockroach or any insects as the tiles are really white, shiny and looks really new. the toilet is small but not bad at all as it looks really new . hot.

During my stay, they need to repair my room toilet so they move us to another room at another building at it is really confortable. Great location in the heart of Kowloon and across the road from a subway station. They provide free computer and wireless internet access, and tea and coffee facilities. The people running the New Tokyo Hostel actually operate around 10 back packer companies in the same building (but under different names), so don't bother comparing options in the Chungking Mansions Building because they will all be the same company. Booked the hotel as advertised as 24 hour reception , the guy on reception was asleep on the sofa when we arrived at 3 am , really late but we did inform them at time of booking , the guy was really grumpy , we checked out at 9 am and he was still sleeping in the sofa and still grumpy , really clean and good value , proberbly fine so long as you don't need late or early checking / out. Good location in the heart of Koolong. It's better than hostel, but worse than hotel. Good for 1 or max 2 nights, only for backpackers or budget stay. Small clean room, TV, hot water, teapot and microwave - in the corridor for 4 or 5 rooms sharing. If you are not a solo traveller - you can find a room for 2 or 3 persons in 3-star hotel - and nearly the same price. good price, good location, clean for a guesthouse, wifi, very good for 1 night in HK in transit or for backpackers. Very basic, clean and good enough for a quick sleepover when getting out of a long-haul flight.. Location. TST, close to MTR station. Rooms are clean. Hot water, kettle, MW oven are available. its near to any shopping stores and it has access to all the public vehicles. The room was clean, but small, and it was easy to get around places. You could catch a free shuttle bus to Chunking Mansion at Kowloon (Airport Express line). Salesman in front of Chungkin Mansion quite annoying for me. the lift is slow n always queue.just need to be patient. Waiting for the elevator is a bit of a hassle. Having to carry a luggage one floor up thru old stairwell. The elevator quite narrow. Not comfortable. I know It difficult to solve this problem. Just my opinion. but Overall nice. Slow lifts and the wait for the lift to arrive. -Elevator -Bed don't clean enough. The room is small and is essentially just a bed and a toilet. If this is all you need from your accommodation, then this option is perfect. The lift in the building gets very crowded and you will have to wait for a long time or take the stairs. Smell from the kitchen in the opposite building, serviceman talking loudly near my room, noisy neighbours at night and I don't like the building at all - the ground floor with that cheap dirty market is awful. In my experience: do not expect any special consideration from the staff if you have questions. Their hotels are full, so if you don't sleep here, someone else will anyway. Then again, you pay for what you get! :). Very small rooms. Price increased 1.5 times in 2 months. the place inside the chungking is very crowded. its very hard to pass specially if you have lots of stuffs you carry with. It was a little difficult to find. The wifi stopped working and nobody fixed it when I brought it to their attention. I asked for a wake-up call for my check-out day which they said they'd do, but nobody gave me a wake-up call. Very small room. very noisy building, its a most crimes area in hongkong. approach to hostel, lift (elevator) service, disturbance by vendors, no closet (cupboard for clothing), very congested room, too expensive for the facility and amenities. our booking was tokyo hostel but they gave us harbour hotel ,its ok but please next time dont do it again. Waiting for the lift could take up to 15 minutes :). rooms were not made up. windows let water in so beds got soaked in storms. had to ask for towels and toilet paper. lift was so slow. rooms tiny. certainly not a family hostel. would be fine i guess if you were a backpacker. To get there, you go through a bad looking crowded market, then through a too small lift, which you have to wait for until the queu of passengers is through. Everything looks poor and dirty except for the room itself. Noisy aircon. Price 4 times too high for this category of lodging. Staff Noise. Too Expensive comparing to Rent charged. Its like Hell. Hardly you can breath. No space... shown in photo very good and spacious but you hardly can move at all. The rent charged you can get easily far better Hotel. The incredible building, like a nightmare ! Dirty stairs ! A mechanical workshop. You must leave before 11a.m. Otherwise you will pay more ! I never left a coment before, but for this kind of hotel, I can't afford it !.
