What people say
Rooms are small high efficiency but have all the comfort you need if you plan on spending most of your time outside. The owner Paul is a really nice guy who will help you with questions about the city. The place is more of a hostel but superclean and only 6 or so month old. To get to it you have to go through an indoor market and find the right elevator but I will stay here again on my next trip through . all reviews »
- Even though rooms are realy tiny (literally, bed + 30cm of hallway)
this hostel offers good value for money.
- Location - just perfect, centrally on Nathan Road.
- The room was spotlessly clean. Offers everything you need for a night's rest (and/but nothing more than that).
- The owner/staff is super-friendly and helpful :).
location is great, rooms are clean and have all conditions (hot water, air conditioning, olso TV but is only for design it has poor signal).
rooms are very small but if efficient if you can organize it.
If you are low budget this room is perfect.
I was so impressed with the owner. He was the nicest person, bending over backwards to help me. I have traveled a long time and it means a lot to meet someone who really puts people first.
It's a multi cultural co-existance, extreme proximity for a North
American person. You have to be ready for this.... .I like it and
it's safe. In the middle of the action...
Very good for money. Clean and safe to stay! Kind and friendly staff! The lady offered me umbrella when it was raining.
The staff were great and very helpful when it came to giving advice on
where to eat, what to see, doing laundry etc.
Very good italian restaurant just 100 meter away.
Location is close to MTR. Actual building is a bit crazy downstairs and you are likely to queue for the lift and may not fit in. I would recommend it for back packing but not to anyone who cares about any measure of comfort.
Did not like a thing.
Getting to the room is a pain. One slow lift, serving 20 floors. Expect
10-min queues or prepare for a climb using the staircase (provided you
are able to find it... ;) Entrance to the lift is from a ground-floor
dodgy, labyrinth-type market (bit shocking to me...). Rooms are tiny.
Wi-Fi wasn't working.
The rooms are small but that is how all of them are in the ChungKing Mansion. The room could have been a little cleaner but overall for the money it is a good deal.
ground floor shopping area seemed a bit dangerous.
Sheets had a few stains on them and need to be replaced.
Cockroaches in the elevator
Garbage by the corridor
Garbage is shuttled in same elevator as people
Long lines at elevator.
A lot of blacks, Indians and Pakistanis who have sold counterfeit and drugs.
Constantly area next to the house patrolled by police.
Room was tiny. I'm not tall and I couldn't lie head to toe in the bed without my feet touching the wall. It's got a shower over the toilet. I think we stayed at a very expensive time, we paid about 1800HKD for 2 nights and then paid less to stay in the nice 4* city view hotel for the following 2 nights which was fantastic in comparison.
Noisy bedroom, bad smell, too small to be true (either the bags or we
fit in the room, but not both). Located inside a shopping center where
everybody cooks Indian food all day long.
