We had difficulty finding the place as the sign at the front was faded so after driving passed it several times, we called and they offered to come and find us! Once we did arrive the welcome was so friendly it made up for not being able to find the place, we were initially given water as it was a hot day, followed by a lovely glass of local wine whilst the owner explained lots of sights we might like to visit on the island. He then let us choose which room we would like, so we picked a penthou.
all reviews » My girlfriend and I stayed at Santorini's Balcony in September 2013. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The hotel has a real feel of traditional friendly service, starting with the owner Anthony down to the whole team, who helped us plan all our activities throughout our stay and gave us great recommendations for places for traditional and authentic places to eat and visit around the island . The breakfast was great, with several options to chose from that were prepared individually and genu. A warm welcome from the staff, a choice of rooms offered to us on arrival. A spacious comfortable studio with that fantastic view and a bottle of mineral water already in the fridge, with the warning not to drink tap water. Then a superb breakfast menu for us to choose our own breakfast items and time. The food was then freshly prepared when we came down and the home-made marmalade is delicious. The staff were always friendly and helpful, looking up bus timetables and booking a table for us. I like the traditional friendly service, starting with the owner Anthony down to all his staff. They said they wanted me to feel like family and I did. Breakfast was excellent and they offered so much I didn't have to eat until dinner. Also a perfect place to see the sunset over the caldera. When I first arrived my room had a view of the caldera but it wasn't the greatest. I mentioned this and I was upgraded to the top suite which had a fantastic view. I asked how much for the upgrade and Antho. Fantastic view, I really enjoyed the breakfast, which was fresh and been prepared the time that you arrive at the breakfast area . Do not forget to taste the homemade jams(strawberry was my favorite), which I haven't found in any other hotel I have been. The staff is always there for helping you. Our room was perfect decorated(the furniture is by local carpenters ,the paints on the wall by local artists even the floor is handmade), comfortable and clean with balcony and caldera,sunset view. If . We arrived at night and when we woke up in the morning, the view was stunning!! The location is fantastic. The pool area was very inviting and clean and breakfast was "tailor made" for every guest. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, went out of their way to make our stay special. The location of our room was great, 3rd floor with the best view. Also, walking distance to Firostefani and Fira. The walkway passes the hotel directly. We had a great time in Santorini's balcony. We had a room with a private jacuzzi overlooking the ocean and it was incredible. Can't recommend this place enough!!!. We were away from the crowded areas, had an amazing view from our balcony and pool. The staff was unbelievable. It was the perfect 6 days. Everything was just amazing. The view, the hotel, the staff and the manager was really nice. The room was not big but cozy and the jacuzzi on the terrase was very relaxing. Hotel is in a beautiful location . The behaviour of personel, view, location. The people really friendly and helpful. Wonderful breakfast, offered rides to main town and from port, had hiking path in front of the hotel. Guests were different nationalities. Τhe staff was very polite and helpful. The location of the hotel offered a magical scenery. location. No kettle or hotplate in the kitchenette area. The only thing negative that caught our attention, was that the TV Channels weren't programmed on the television. But this was really no issue for us as we did not spend much time in the room. Nothing but you do need transportation to get around which they can arrange for you there. Everything was perfect. The beds were uncomfortable and the bathroom needs an upgrade, but all the rooms are individual and pretty. I really enjoy my stay to this hotel and i do not have any complain. The only advice I would give to the staff is to put some relaxing music around the pool and during brekfast. The hotel is not close to many restaurants or shops. Cofee, breakfast. Sometimes difficult to communicate. Showers not enclosed. The photos from Booking showed a big room and a luxurious bathroom. In fact, the room was smaller,different and the bathroom was unfinished(no tiles,only cement!). Toilet and sink were dirty and the blanket had stains!Also, every time we had a shower the bath flooded. Unaccepatable for a hotel that costs 200 Euros per night!I would definitely not recomment it to anyone.The owner completely deceives the visitors and booking itself!. room, breakfast.
