For the price, the location is worth the small room we got. I believe most rooms are larger, but in ours there was enough room to sleep and that's about it. It didn't matter though, it is located right in the Plaka, with lots of shops and restaurants right outside the door, and a short walk to the Acropolis and Temple of Zeus, among other ruins. The rooftop deck provides a very nice view of the Plaka and a wall of the Acropolis, along with some more distant ruins. The hotel was a great valu.
all reviews » This hotel is ideally placed to visit the main sites of Athens on foot. We stayed for 3 nights and did not feel the need to use public transport. The staff were excellent throughout.The breakfast is simple but filling and saves the hassle of eating out. We enjoyed sitting out on the roof terrace with a view of the Acropolis. As a budget hotel for exploring Plaka, this is ideal. Great Location! The first room I stayed in was awesome (Room 323) balcony, great view, big, roomy, clean. Best room on my 2 month European oddesy. But on the second day they told me my room was booked and I would have to move. Smaller room, no view, no balcony, same price (Room 327). Other than that, I liked it!. Warm & friendly family run hotel rightin the heart of Plaka, the historical centre. We had a view of the Acropolis from our room but the view from their roof terrace was fantastic. We received good information of authentic restaurants to try and they were great. Enjoyed our stay, thank you. The location is wonderful. Very central: the Acropoli is only 10min away, and the subway station is also in a walking distance. The staff was helpful and friendly: they gave me a painting the wife’s owner made herself, as a souvenir. The view from my balcony was amazing! My room was big. Location - within walking distance of Acropolis and all major attractions. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Facilites were very clean and room comfortable. I had lovely view from my room of Roman rooms and Byzantium church. Also, found a self-service laundry relatively close. The view of the Acropolis from our room was incredible! The owners were extremely helpful. They stayed up late to check us in, recommended breakfast places for us, watched our baggage while we explored, and they booked a taxi for us to the bus station when we checked out. Clean, basic rooms with the MOST convenient location to Plaka, the Acropolis, the Acropolis Museum, the flea market and so much more... We stay here now, everytime we need to be in downtown Athens. I thought the breakfast was overpriced, so I went out on the street for breakfast. Didn't like my room change, that kinda put me off! If they had reduced the rate, well... But they didn'T. The external bedroom was a little uncomfortable, but the option was clear when I made the reservation. The wifi needed to be restarted some times in order to work properly. The bed mattress was uncomfortable. I haven’t tried the breakfast. Parking is a bit difficult, but we tend to park once and then take a taxi if we need to leave the area... Bed mattress was not very comfortable. The room is small by American standards, but that wasn't a big deal to us. It's a typical, basic European hotel room. If you are in Athens to relax and be pampered, choose another place. If you are there to see the sights and need a clean place to sleep and a hot shower, it's perfect. Nothing. Bathroom across the hall rather than in the room was a little inconvenient but we knew it was to be like this. There's smell in the room, I have to leave the window open for a while everyday. Private bathroom outside room, it was OK but something new for me, kinda weird too. It is a little inconvenient for ladies to walk in and out with just towel as the walkway has other rooms. Also inconvenient if having to remove and wear clothes in the bath after shower as it has small space. It is OK but not perfect. That I had to leave. Beds were hard but this was expected, so its not really a negative point. Plus, it was only one night!. breakfast a little simple compared to what we've been treated to at similar accommodations, shower bit small. I certainly didn't like my one-night stay on the roof but the fault was mine and the hotel,namely Marianna,did the best possible thing under the circumstances. Didn't seem too secure. The small room is VERY small. The shared bathroom smelled of urine. The breakfast was very minimal (coffee, cheese & bread). Small room but comfortable. Wifi wasn't working when we arrived but the problem was solved at night. Found the room a bit too small. Shared bathroom. Our rooms were too small for two people with luggage and we could hardly move. The beds were uncomfortable and the bathrooms across the hall needed complete refurbishment. If they are to stay as they are, some pegs to hang clothes/dressing gowns would be most welcome and also showers with holders that are not broken so you don't have to hold the shower head to use it (as was the case with one of our two rooms). Television was tiny and remote did not work. Shower could have done with a scrub. Would have liked a fridge in our room. Was a little noisy late at night if you left window open.
