The staff at Hotel Areos were incredibly friendly and helpful during our stay. The hotel has been newly renovated, so everything is new, modern, and very stylish. The room was very tastefully decorated. The breakfast buffet in the morning had a wide selection of food (including some very tasty pastries) and the coffee was excellent. I definitely recommend Hotel Areos to anyone staying in Athens.

The subway station is within a couple of blocks. We really enjoyed our stay. The Areos Hotel never ceases to amaze me with the quality of services it provides and the warmth of its people! Every time I stay there it feels like staying over at friends' and every time I check out it's like saying goodbye to friends!. The hotel is modern, with new furniture and nice interior design. Rooms has no mistake, also the location is perfect, walking distance to city center and all interesting places. In our first room, the sliding door did not lock properly, so we asked to be moved to another room as we did not want to leave our belongings in the room unattended.Breakfast. Lack of internet access in the room,but it was available in the lobby.There was no hotel in room safe. and there was a lack of travel brochures and hotel guide to hotel services and phone use. The area feels unsafe for tourists it is beside a major museum, but I would only go to the museum and make a quick exit. The deck had no chairs and table. The room was new, large, large bathroom ...The hotel was not easy to find and is about 500 meters and 2 major road crossings from the nearest metro station. Worth the effort if you are mobile and do not have too much luggage to handle, otherwise take a taxi. No, but there is a need for having internet in the rooms. nothing. Very lound street (even at night) and insificient isolation of the windows, ask for rooms to the back. bath curtain is missing / breakfast is poor. there is a small kitchen in each room, but no pots or pans to cook, did not get what is the use of it :). no english news on TV, power cut for few hours in room. traffic noise. 20-Second noisy vibration after flushing toilet (did not hear it fromneighbouring rooms), absence of safe, nothing to grip in shower, no easychair, only a stool. At the price, these are not serious failings. The breakfast is too expensive.Front rooms are too noisy, so we changed during our stay there. Thefirst room smels like a smoking room but it seems that in Greece nonsmoking room means smoking sometimes... The bed was two twins pushed together. Would've been better to have a single mattress.a little noisy, but that's Greece. There was no room-service catalogue, or a phone index [for reception, room service, or an external line]. The hotel was new and somethings were still non-exist (minibar, curtain at bath ,etc.).

Information about the area

Areos Hotel was actually named after its neighbour, Areos Park. It is located very close to the Platia Victoria metro stop, making it directly accessible from either Athens International Airport or Piraeus Port. Visitors can walk to the National Archaeological Museum or jump on bus 400 (Athens Sightseeing public bus line) and visit the main Athenian attractions including, Acropolis, Plaka, the National Gallery and Benaki Museum.

From the Airport (during the day):

By metro:
1) Take the blue line and get off at Monastiraki. Here you take the green line to Kifissia and get off at Victoria Square which is only a 5 minutes’ walk from the hotel away. Follow either Cheyden Street or Alexandras Avenue. The Hotel is located on Boumpoulinas street opposite the Areos Park.

2) Take the blue line and get off at Syntagma Square. From Amallias Avenue you can take the trolley buses (electric buses) number 2, 4 or 9. Get off at Egiptoy (Egypt) Square and follow Ioulianou Street. You will find us at number 6.

By suburb train:
You can also take the suburb train; in this case, you get off at Neratziotissa station. From here you take the metro to Piraeus (green line). Get off at Victoria Square which is only a 5 minutes’ walk from the hotel away. Follow either Cheyden Street or Alexandras Avenue. The Hotel is located on Boumpoulinas street opposite the Areos Park.

From the Airport (during the night):

Take bus number X95 (operates 24-hours) and get off at Syntagma Square. From Amallias Avenue, you can take trolley bus number 11 (electric bus, 24 hours). Get off at Egiptoy Square and follow Alexandras Avenue. The Hotel is located on Boumpoulinas street opposite the Areos Park.

From Piraeus port (during the day):

By metro:
Take the green line to Kifissia and get off at Victoria Square which is only a 5 minutes’ walk from the hotel away. Follow either Cheyden Street or Alexandras Avenue. The Hotel is located on Boumpoulinas street opposite the Areos Park.

From Piraeus Port (during the night):

Take bus number 040 from the bus terminal; get off at Syntagma Square. Get off at Egiptoy Square and then follow the Alexandras Avenue. The Hotel is located on Boumpoulinas street opposite the Areos Park.
