The hotels is quiet, clean and with a fantastic breakfast. One of us was sick and the staff went out of their way to be helpful. We extended our stay and would come back in a heartbeat. As for the comments about the neighbourhood, except for one street between the museum and the polytechical school it was just fine. My advice is to just avoid that street (Tositsa) an use one on either side.
all reviews » We spent here two fantastic weeks without watching tv, so we don't know how it works. But the room was big and clean. On the opposite side of the street is Polytechnic School so we had no "neighbours" looking through our window. Instead o lot of free parking space (in greek meaning ofc). Many police officers 24/7 in the area. Safe and quiet place.The director Mr. Kardamis himself nad all his staff are extremely helpful in every case. It was our second stay in this hotel and we already look forward to return to BW Museum Hotel for summer holidays. Nice helpful staff, friendly concierge, charming housemaids, room was made up as as soon as you turned your back. We have been staying at this hotel since 1999 ( different names/organisations). Free wireless internet (WiFi) worked fine in the room. Free breakfast was good too. I enjoyed staying at this hotel. Location, cleanliness, friendliness of the staff, free wireless internet access!. I liked a lot both the hotel location (near to Omonia metro station) and the quiet of the neighborhood. Also, the price of the room was very cheap. The fact that it is conveniently located, it is quite although in the middle of the city, clean, very good breakfast, nice rooms. Size of room, as we were travelling as a family of 4 there was ample room for all of us, especially the size of the bathroom. convenient, central location, comfortable room, good rate. free juice and aircon in rooms breakfast good also. The location is not far from Omonia metro station, but the surrounding area is not very safe especially on weekend and at night. You should be careful of junkie guys, pickpockets and fake polices. Quite a walk from metro. The hotel is set in what has become a very seedy area with homeless people sleeping in the square outside. Their bedding and belongings were there all day. While I did not mind walking through in dayIight I would certainly not have felt safe leaving or returning to the hotel in the evenings, even though there were police stationed on the corner. I think that it would be better if breakfast was served till 11 o'clock instead of 10.The night receptionist was a little abrupt, and not all together helpful, possibly due to the language barrier. The location of the hotel is somewhat questionable for families. There is a street next to the museum with what appeared to be drunks and drug dealers.The direct walkway opposite the hotel appears to be full of druggies and very dark - Athens City Council / Rulers needs to do something about it - it's clearly not the fault or responsibility of the hotel. That said it can be easily avoided but should not be there in the first place. Minor point: below average choice for breakfast. Breakfast wasn't stellar. Couple of items ran out before it ended. 1. The location is also near the Polytechnic Institute, therefore there is noise occasionally. The hotel has no control over this. 2. The Museum Cafe is the only nearby restaurant, but it is a good cafe.Water-pressure and temperature in the shower were variable. TV signals were also variable and, on one occasion, changed automatically . No control of AC in room - made the room too hot.I would have preferred a better location- closer to the major sites and restaurants and away from the undesirable element[ people} who frequented the area near the hotel, especially in the evening. homeless people nearby. The bathroom, although it was clean, therewas not any space available for laying the necessities and if the curtain in the shower was replaced by a cabin that would have have helped a lot. Also in the certain room we were accomodated the closet was uncoveniently small. I didn't like the area the hotel was in, very questionable.no tea/coffee in rooms. one male staff was a bit rude. the reception on the tv's was poor. Saw a cockroach in our room as we were departing, after staying three nights. small room, view from my room. computers and internet. -> The breakfast service was hands-off and the breakfast itself was quite ordinary. Internet conncetion was no good. Very small room. Room Decoration and Furniture. The area the hotel was situated was a little run down with a number of undesirables hanging around. It was a little scary.Very small shower and carpets can do with a vacuum. the internet and the computer in the lobby. it's the only hotel ever where I had to call because there was not enough toilet paper. The room was poorly cleaned (lots of duts all over the place) and towel replacement etc. was not consistent in the least. there was cockroach in our room, the air conditionning was not at par, the internet access was extrelemly slow and the location of the hotel is not optimal at all.

From the Athens Airport Bus E95 to Syntagma square/Terminal then Trolley No 3 or 5 or 12 or 15 to Museum station(3rd station) and then 100 metres walk to Hotel Museum. Departures every 20/30 minutes. Duration of the journey:60 minutes. Bus operates for 24 hours, on a daily basis every 1/2 hour.

Metro- the only line 3 to Syntagma then Trolley No 3 or 5 or 12 or 15 to Museum station(3rd station) and then 100 metres walk to Hotel Museum. Departures every 1/2 hour.

Metro- the only line 3 to Omonia station (with a change of metro at Syntagma station-line 2, -for next 2 stations-direction to Aghios Antonios)and then 600 metres walk to Hotel Museum. Metro rail operates on a daily basis from 06:30 to 23:00.

Advice for the ticket system of bus and metro:
*Tickets must be bought before getting on
*Metro: buy them in the ticket office at the station.
*Bus: tickets are available in most newspapers-shops, in the white little shacks and from street venders.

Note that the ticket must be stamped in the machines as you get on the bus and just before you enter the platform area in the metro. Fares are the same for children age 6 and up. Childeren of 5 years or less go for free.

Driving directions from the airport to our hotel:
From Athens airport the Attiki odos (highway), direction to Mesoghion Avenue, turn to the right on Alexandras Avanue, turn to the left onto Zaimi street, on the 5th street (Stournari) to the right, 1st street (Bouboulinas) again to the right and after 70 metres you are at the Museum Hotel.
