The location was terrific. Just a stone's throw from the big cathedral. The lower floor of the hotel is a giant restaurant serving some of the best food in town at rock-bottom prices. I got a room facing the inner courtyard, so although the hotel was in the centre of town, it was extremely quiet. Great for sleeping. The breakfast was also quite sufficient. The room was very clean and had a spectacular view of the Dom. The breakfast was tasty, the staff was friendly and in general the room was very comfortable. I would definitely come back to this hotel, and highly recommend it. The location was incredible for the price!.
all reviews » Great location and fantastic breakfast. When I checked out I informed the receptionist that it had been difficult to sleep on the ladt night because of a party on the 6th floor. She apologised profusely and refunded the breakfasts. Great Breakfast! Very efficient check-in and check-out. We did not have a car but came by train. The location is excellent if you come by train. The hotel has beer from the brewery right below in the refrigerator!. Spotlessly clean and in a very convenient location. It is about a block from the Cologne Dom, which is one of the most visited sights for tourists visiting Germany. Also, it is about 2 blocks from the main train station in Cologne. The location next to the xmas market could not be faulted. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and the bathroom was excellent. My wife found the magnified mirror in the bathroom very handy. Overall, it was a very average hotel experience and we expected more for the price. Instead of a double bed, I got a combined bed of 2 single beds!. Very bad service. Staff were unhelpful and offhand - apart from the lady in the bar. bed size was not clear to me it was a small bed. - To use Internet you needed individual passwords. - Shampoo, etc. in small amounts - The staff was not available at the front desk during the night for the needs of the guests. The furnishings in the room were very basic. It would have been good to get a room with a bath, as the one shower is very small. Besides, we had asked for an extended checkout, which letsbookhotel.com had confirmed, but the hotel did not have it in their records. Eventually, after showing them the email from letsbookhotel.com, they relented. Staff does not seem very guest oriented.
