The Merlin was a clean and comfortable place to relax on a fairly quiet street, located in a very reasonable distance to the city's tourist attractions and restaurants. We had everything we needed including the ensuite bathroom, a fan for ventilation, a fridge for common use outside the door, and although letsbookhotel.com said a meal option was not available, the friendly staff gave us the option to add on a quality continental buffet breakfast at a very cheap price.
all reviews » The location is very convenient to restaurants and many sights. The staff was not very friendly but with some persistance were somewhat helpful. It is like a rooming house with a small fridge kept in a common area which worked out fine. There is no breakfast offered and no refunds if you decide to change your dates but I would recommend it. The location was great, easy walking distance to main sightseeing areas, affordable and clean. Fairly basic accommodations, but I spent as much time as possible out and about. I was able to find a parking space in front of the hotel and it was very cheap compared to other hotels at EUR 9. Also, reception was open 24 hrs/day. I found the staff to being very polite, friendly and esceptionally helpful. They also spoke very good English which was most helpful for a travelling Aussie..! The location is very good, within a very short walk to the metro and shops. The room was very clean. Was good to have access to a small bar fridge and kettle. I loved the location. It was about a 10-15 minute walk from the Old City, but was in a quieter area of the city. However, the personal arranged to charge our credit card because we did not have cash. Shower didn't drain so had to limit water use. A bit noisy as by the main road into Prague, but the hotel itself was peaceful. Parking a car is a problem for travellers using a car. Breakfast food was ok, but area was very, very dark and unappealing. no air condition. the noisy may be. breakfast. Cleaning is infrequent for real.. Don't forget to remind!. I stayed 2 nights, room was not cleaned up and towels not changed. Payment only cash (unbelievable in 2013). Breakfast not included (4 € extra) in a very dark and sad room in the nearby restaurant. Food quality so so. Tiny showers, reception of the hotel is outside the building, elevator stops every other floor, linens were dirty, they clean the room every other day, towels were old, and the worst: they did not take credit or debit cards. Only cash to pay for the stay. The breakfast was the poorest I've ever seen in a hotel. There were construction works right in front of my window; the staff hadn't told my about this fact. The heating didn't work the whole night.
