I am a true fan of the Opposite House. I stay once a year there, when on Business in Beijing. The staff is very helpful and is happy to take care of many issues, which would cost you a lot of time doing yourself, such as printing business cards etc. The rooms are great, with all facilities you want, nice coffee, great music system, free mini-bar. Our entire family enjoyed our stay at the Peninsula. The room was spacious, clean and thoughtfully designed. I love how the desk area is separated from the rest of the room. It allows me to do some work while the kids are watching a movie. The management really pays attention to the details which made our stay extremely comfortable. -

Family room was fantastic, (5 adults) large and comfy beds with a large lounge area. Staff very attentive (particularly Raoul) in catering to needs and providing helpful suggestions for trips. Close to wangfujing street with lots of shopping and less than 5 mins walk to metro. Decor of hotel very grand with beautiful staircases and impressive entrance! Would definitely recommend this hotel (and whole family would too!)

Featuring charming, ultra-helpful English-speaking staff; the Xiao Yuan Alley hotel provides comfortable beds and good facilities, with a superbly located downtown hutong (Beijing alley) location, sensibly priced organized tours (if you wish) and excellent and very reasonably priced food available inside and nearby outside the hotel. And it's a very affordable place.
I very much want to stay at this hotel again. I get happy just thinking about it. Highly recommend.

The staff were extremely helpful, especially front desk manager Thomas and Murphy in guest relations. They really helped us get along in a city where very few individuals speak English. Ambiance was very nice in lobby and pool. The food in their restaurants was expensive but very tasty - worth the money. -
