What people say
The shower was a bit small but the room was very cosy and relaxing. The
building and its neighbourhood were fantastic and Victoria's is well
located with respect to the subway, town and the museum/gallery. The
staff were very helpful and interested. Victoria's was the best
accommodation I had in Canada.
I thought it was a great place to stay. The price was right. The noise level was great for being in an old victorian house. The bed was comfy. I really can't complain. I liked that it had a fridge in the room. I would go back for sure. all reviews »
Within walking distance of many downtown Toronto attractions this charming and affordable house is well suited for a couple or someone traveling solo looking to explore Toronto. I've stayed multiple times and will definitely be back!.
The house is very nice looking. I was on the top floor so it felt like I was living in the attic of this old house, may not sound positive but I enjoyed the feeling.
AIR CONDITIONING.
The location was ideal for seeing the city and there were many restaurants and cafes within walking distance. The room was clean and the garden was lovely. The price could not be beat.
Located just a few steps from Church St on Gloucester and a few minutes walk from the U of T and downtown the central location would be hard to beat.
It is situated in the heart of Toronto and in a quiet street, but it is less than 5 minutes to get to restaurants. Very clean and pleasant staff.
Location price close subway/bus restaurants close by quiet staff was
helpful, unobstrusive.
The house was gorgeous. Liked that the fact that it had fridge, etc. That was great.
The price is below the average in Toronto. Great location. Clean and safe.
Quiet,
Friendly helpful staff
Overall clean room
Comfortable bed.
Where it was. It was close to everything which was great for me.
Love the British mansion, the garden and the staff.
Great location, value for money. Very clean.
Convenience, location, price.
For the size of the room they used the space well. It was comfortable enough for a short stay. Bathroom was very clean.
Excellent location for the price and nice old converted "mansion". Parking available.
lovely building in a nice area, convenient to public transit and local services.
Location is perfect. The price is quite reasonable given the good location.
Room equiped (microwave) very good. Price is cheap.
location was excellent!.
Location.
Room was clean. Fairly convenient to downtown Toronto area, including restaurants and public transportation. Fridge and microwave in-room. Parking was satisfactory and relatively inexpensive (pay cash and get discount).
the location and the price.
The shower, while cute, was a little small in my room.
nothing to really say.
Window faced a wall.
Would've liked a balcony room.
The bathroom was a little small.
Intercom system is dated and clumsy to use. For example, my visitors were lucky to have my contact info when arriving.
Coffee and water should be provided because guests out of town may not know what to do. Also assistance is provided only by phone. Out of town and out of country who maynot have phone will get stuck.
Room 6 was pretty good value, bed little small. Maybe the tray table
could be removed and light and clock put on a shelf so access to bed can
be had on both sides. Longer shower curtain. All in all, no complaints.
There wasn't anything I didn't like. Only thing I could suggest would be to have coffee in filter packets. No waste with opened coffee packs and filters aren't out in the open for touching by other guests.
Couple of old stains on bedding.
Couldnt use the microwave. I put it on only to have it completely shut off on me.
I do like it but someone does not speak English may needs to know, the
late check in procedure is a bit confusing (wait, can they see my
comment if they do not speak English?~~~) Quite a funny adventure
experience though.
Hot water took a long time to get to my room.
I enjoy a firmer mattress then the one offered. The lamps in the rooms could use maintenance as they feel as though they are about to fall apart.
Very noisy creaking bed.
Room #7 uncomfortably laid out and too dark. Resembling a broom closet.
The wall is not soundproof and we were disturbed by the noise from next door at midnight.
Check in finished too early (15:00-19:00) doors are closed all time
(like a gail). Room is very compact.
Very small room; no hot water!.
Rooms were just bigger than a closet. I only stayed the one of the two nights then went to the Marriott. Parking is tricky.
Room was quite small, and an overly large wardrobe made it even smaller. Hotel is on quiet street, but building is surrounded by high-rise apartment buildings around which the wind blows noisily at times.
no service, you thought you were disturbing the staff, very small room and bed, microscopic bathroom, and we could hear, the guest in the next room coughing all night long...
