New beds, very confortable. A big kitchen with everything to cook, and really clean. Good breakfast, which is included in the price. Really fast internet. Very friendly staff who explained me how to get somewhere, they ordered a taxi for me. Very nice atmosphere. I definitly recommend this hostel and I will go there again!. clean enough, excellent downtown location, excellent price, nice staff, excellent value for short/mid-length stay.

Nice location inside the Kensington market, 2 blocks from nice bakery (Cobb, open 7 to 7) and Jimmy coffeeshop across from bakery. 24hr city parking in close vicinity. Friendly staff and simple breakfast provided. Hostel with great potential but some upgrade is badly needed. The manager was helpful and friendly, helped correct the mistake some else made while booking our rooms. The room was decent for the price we paid for which was a double room, it was clean and comfy. Location was great, kensington is beautiful. Convenient for cooking and traveling. 10 min walking to China town and 30 min to CN tower,5 min to University of Toronto. Balcony in room, breakfast was included, tv and wifi was included, friendly and helpfull staff, very budget-friendly,. I loved the location and the staff was friendly when checking in. In the heart of Kensington Market, close to public transit, great restaurants and bars. It is the worst place in the hell. Do not waist your time there it is horrendous ,,,. The didn't have our reservation but the tried to do their best. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The only good thing is the location. The location is easy for transport. wuz close to our venue. Lavatory on my floor was not functional. Showers were not working and room was stinking like anything. No linnen provided by them and no room service offered in the entire stay. Location. Hence, the staff is fair but the management could invest a basic amount of money on refurbishment. Close to some shopping centers. Easy for transport by bus. The staff was nice and pleasant. The reception is closed at evening, I think after 8 pm and it was not clearly visible on the webpage, so I arrived late and had some difficulties to check in. Public shared bathroom. Funny hostel smell, missing shower curtain. Outdated bedding (especially pillows) and furniture, lack of hangers and chair in the room. Keys for the night entrance did not work and the door it was not locked like they said it would be, also no airconditioning and we didn't have curtains on our windows, not enough showers/bathrooms. Heating equipment can be turned on manually in room but there is no instructon that indicate how to do that. Furniture and TV are old. Wifi wasnt working in our room even though it was included in price, washrooms + showers in bad condition. I did not like the bathroom facilities. They were very uncomfortable and were not clean enough. The reception hours were from 8am but in 5 of 7 mornings no one was there at that time, or even later at 8h30; thus we were unable to get our breakfast or talk to the staff. Breakfast is from 8 to 11 am, however almost every day there was nobody at the reception till 8h30. Therefore I paid for breakfast, but I could take it only twice instead of 7 times! Moreover, they call breakfast bread, butter, jam, tea and coffee (and it is included obligatorily). The location is a bit unfriendly, not much sunlight. The front desk was unattended for approximately 10 minutes. Normally I would find this acceptable, but it was between 10am - 11am when people are checking out. There was a bunch of people waiting in the reception area. pretty sparse room, bathrooms not too clean, staff not too friendly. not clean enough. Stained sheets. there was no air condition available, only a ventilator; it was pretty hot. The room was not clean, even though it was okay in my opinion. . At first we got a destroyed room but the they changed. Just no AC not really clean rooms and I don't know how often they clean the sharing bathrooms. The location is a little bit out of city center but near to campus. Only book if you don't expect anything and are used to bad backpackers. More than half the toilets were blocked/unusable. Very dirty and gross. May as well pay the extra $20 and stay somewhere else. Everything but the location! Too noise untill 3.00 am (my room was at the first floor next to a pub), there was not air conditioner and we were six in a room! Bad breakfast, bad cleaning! It was a nightmare... The whole hostel and facilities are shabby. not A hotel. no bathrooms cept down the hall, shower in the basement, not A hotel, A hostel. Very dirty. Ugly and broken washrooms. We've got used linen. Very sober, no private bathroom, kitchen where you are suppost to make your own breakfast was very dirty and smelly, it's not a hotel but a hostel. Dirty. Cleanliness is poor and it is not comfortable at all!. Nobody cleans the room, the rooms including the wash rooms are old and dirty. I was told to move from room to room every day but I booked continuous four days. The staff are nowhere to be found even if you told them that you will arrive late. I would suggest if you have any other choice you should skip this one. It was very dirty in the shower room had mole . the guest kitchen was dirty with dishes all over. The room heating was not working. When we booked in their was no one their and we had t call and wait for somone to come with a key. When we booked in the next day we was told we should know we need a pasport to book in. Dirty room, toilet, showers and common areas. Poor maintenance. Bed clothes were smelling. Too noisy, smell of smoke when open the window. Very Hot since there is no AC. Bath room and shower room are not convenient. Can't sleep well at night. Lots of homeless people around the hotel. The place is globally filthy. The shared bathroom hasn't been cleaned up for 4 days, there was filth all over the floor. There is a bunch of unpleasant odour from the kitchen to the 4th floor. Utterly filthy rooms. Almost every one of the communal showers and toilets was out of order, meaning you had to walk down several long corridors and down multiple flights of stairs to find a toilet that worked. Broken locks on the doors. Graffiti everywhere. No shower curtains. Homeless people sleeping outside the front door. The hostel is full with bed bugs and is very awfull. The bed sheet were dirty, I asked for new one and they were dirty too (I mean really dirty, not washed, full of hair stains etc). The room is dirty. First night no heating, second night no WiFi. The breakfast is just a pic nic table with bread milk coffee cereals etc and just a sofa to seat, no tables. Global Village Kensington is listed as Hotel but it isn't. It's backpacker hostel!!.
