When checking in on my last business trip, I discovered that I had made a mistake when booking on line. The staff were calm, competent and accomodating with my somewhat hysterical insistance that I had not made a mistake about the price of the room; which I had. I was too flustered to realise it at the time. I was surprised when they upgraded my room, which I hadn't asked for, but when I arrived in the room I was very pleasently surprised with the room's appointments. The spa tub was wonder.
all reviews » We were received like royalty at the front desk. There was a welcome card and an appetizer tray in our suite when we arrived. We had expected a room which was wheelchair accessible but were delighted with the upgrade. The food in the restaurant served by very pleasant waitresses, was top notch. Big, nicely decorated and very clean room. Amazing view of the river; so pretty, especially at night. Very comfy bed. Friendly staff. Fresh flowers in lobby a nice touch. Fast elevators. Very quiet, no noise. Restaurant attached, plus pub outside the door, both convenient. River-view room overlooking fall colours in the river valley, close to riverside walking trail and river cruise launch. Central location, easy to reach other attractions all around the city. Excellent café, with a popular Sunday Brunch. Also, friendly Irish Pub. I really appreciated when I asked if my room had a view of the river and when I was told no the staff member immediately checked for an upgrade at no extra cost. When I entered my room I was totally pleased and grateful for the room I was provided. Thank you. We checked in late and the hotel was full, but the front desk staff were very accomodating and made sure that we had everything that we needed. They went above and beyond what we would have been satified with and it made us feel like welcomed guests. We were upgraded to a king bed, river view! Fabulous! There is a nice walkway along the river and the hotel was close to everything we were looking for. We were able to take in some of the jazz festival, which was great. My Dad was in City Hospital, I loved that you had a free shuttle and also a hospital rate. My Mom and I loved our stay at the Park Towne Hotel. We would highly recommend your hotel to family and friends. I loved being able to see the river and bridges, being close to walking trails and close to downtown happenings. It was quite, clean and comfortable. Our breakfast and the staff were wonderful. New upgrade to rooms and lobby, easy parking, very good service, great restaurant. Have stayed many times and never any complaints or problems - my hotel of choice in Sasakatoon. The room was very comfortable and well appointed. I loved the view over the Saskatchewan River and the great location by the river park and downtown restaurants. Fantastic location and the river view was great! The staff were so accommodating too. All in all a fantastic hotel and also close to U of S. Beautiful location and view along the riverbank. Great shuttle service too. Like attention to eco-friendly. Good computer connections. Beautiful new lobby area. Room was excellent in every way, and very comfortable. (Didn't go into any other areas so cannot comment). Location was wonderful, with park for walking. The staff was very welcoming, very informative with exceptional service. It was a two room suite With a fire place and chesterfield and chair . Beds were comfortable..food was very good..very nice view from room. View was nice room was a good size and comfortable. The staff was very friendly. I found the room hot, and couldn't reduce the room temperature by turning down the thermostat. (The heat of the room was probably increased when I used the spa tub.) Maintence brought me a fan which made sleeping bearable. I would suggest that this room that faces the west, will be very hot in the summer if the tub is used, air conditioning not withstanding. The room was on the 4th or 7th floor. Rooms reserved for the handicapped are tricky for most hotels. In this case the management would do well to consult with the Assisted Living Department of our Health before converting a room to be a wheelchair accessible one. The bathroom was a challenge due to the inappropriately placed hand rails both for tub and toilet as well as the small space which does not make it easy to manoeuvre a wheelchair. The carpet in the bedroom though cozy is also a challenge. The pool and hot tub were closed, even though advertised. The room service food was unexceptional (fish was probably a frozen reheat). Currently under renovations. The lobby was under construction with exposed structure and drywall everywhere. The staff seemed less welcoming than the could have been. A little expensive. Channels slow to change on the tv, hard to find a guide or movies. Fitness centre was closed temporarily. More vegetarian options on the menu. Didn't like the exercise room being in the pool area as it was far too hot. really need t be separate rooms. Fans too noisy and blow a bit too hard. Also needed mats for floor exercises and cool down. Also did NOT like the extra $8 parking charge that no one told us about and then just added to our bill when checking out. nothing. It's noisy because it's located near a busy road. Wouldn't accept American Express. Noisy neighbours. Extra fee for parking. The added outside parking fee. The framed picture on the wall that is derogatory and insulting to a particular group of people. I spoke to the General Manager about it and he indicated that it would be brought up at their monthly meetings. Some drunken fool pulled the fire alarm at 3:00 am. Gave all a scare. The clock didnt work right. poor toiletries. Didnt like the t v cable servus. I find the price of all hotel stays, mostly because you cant check in til after 3pm very expensive. Not able to access a senior rate when booking with letsbookhotel.com. Not able to make that change after arrival. When I booked for my daughter and I they didn't ask how many beds we wanted. So I assumed we would have 2 beds. When we got there we only had 1 bed and when we asked for 2 beds we had to pay an extra $15.00. Hotel was undergoing renovations which took away experience. Refridgerator and air conditioner were noisy. I could hear the vehicles on the highway. Having to pay for parking as the hotel cost was on the high end to begin with. A bit strange that fire alarm gong at 3 a.m... No one did not know anything... Construction in the lobby, no internet. driveway above ground sometimes was full. Was disappointed the gym/pool was closed. lobby was cold. I didn't like the fact that because I booked through letsbookhotel.com, I was unable to recieve any discounts...eg suma, or caa. Had to pay extra for parking.. should be included in hotel price. not to many people go to a hotel without transportation.. SunLight shone right in our eyes in the morning and curtain couldnt be adjusted..pool was dirty.. water leak in the ceiling in restaurant right by our table when dining. Tv remote did not work and the price of the room is extremely high compared to edmonton or calgary. The room was very, very hot. I told them about it and was told they would fix it but didn't. several times there was a line up at the front desk and only one staff member working. Too much waiting around. pool area under construction but we were not told that ever until attempting to use. Had some small kids along wanting to swim. Would not have stayed there if had known. Fitness room and pool were closed and was not informed when I booked. Would have stayed elsewhere had I known. Toilet overflowed and it took 2.5 hours to clean up on the morning we were leaving. The restaurant had terribly greasy food.
