Great bed and linens, although the making of the bed could have been a bit tighter. the housekeeper for our room (317) was Mony (I think I have that right). she was very friendly and called me by name -- I appreciated that. I happened to mention we had gotten married their seventeen years ago and they so very kindly upgraded us to a river view. I was so beautiful to watch out or window and have our breakfast. Thanks Again.
all reviews » Always love to stay on the river in Saskatoon. Have very fond memories of the Bess when I was growing up in that city. Staff very good and helpful. Wonderful atmosphere in charming old building. Classic old Canadian hotel full of history, yet the hotel is in fantastic condition. Great location on the river. There is an outdoor skating rink in the park next door that is lit at night. The hotel itself was a remarkable place to spend time with a loved one. If we would have had a bitter time we would have loved to try out the gym and pool. Maybe next time. Hotel is a heritage building and looks stunning from outside. Rooms are great, large and recently upgraded. Room amenities were great. Location is the best. The Bessborough is centrally located and has an old world feel: the staff are friendly and I love the rooms with a view of the river. Very nice quiet hotel perfect for business trip.Food was excellent dining and room service wonderful.Comfortable rooms. It's a historic hotel and so different from others in Saskatoon. Elegant, classic and a wonderful location. Location was great. Nice hotel but room was a bit small. Banquet for daughter's grad was great. The location next to the river and in downtown Saskatoon close to restaurants and shopping. The staff were fabulous; including allowing me to use the small boardroom for a meeting. The bed and the linen were fantastic, as was the meal in the diningroom at night. We, Husband and I did like our stay for the comfort, privacy, and cleanliness. Location , staff were nice , hotel was in good condition for older hotel. Location, room service food was excellent, staff were excellent. I love this old castle. I was married there 23 years ago. The rooms were quite nice and the beds were comfortable. The front staff were very friendly and smiled alot. Hotel itself was stunning. The ambience and decor. Being on the river. riverside location. Our family has been supporting the Bessborough for nearly a century so we stay there for sentimental reasons. We do appreciate that Delta is prepared to keep the Old Girl running. I'm sure it doesn't make them much money and the next step will likely be demolition. That will be a shame!. the desk cables were organized nicely and there were plenty of electrical outlets beautiful building with nice views. Good location very nice wedding. location. I think the prices of the breakfasts, particularly the continental breakfast is quite high. I would appreciate the parking being included in the room price. I have no complaints at all the staff were all amazing. Unable to book senior or other rate when checking in. Should be told ahead of time. Other hotels have better policy reguarding this. Toilet would not flush and never was fixed. Solution was to give me another key to use washroom across hall. Not terribly convenient. We stayed for 3 nights and did ask someone for some fresh towels but we never did receive them. Club Lounge could be better. The available food and snacks were rather poor. The restaurant service was poor and variety of the a la carte menu was disappointing. Needs some updating.No table to eat at in my room just the desk.For the price queen room quite small. Parking fees were more than advertised on letsbookhotel.com; didn't realize the fitness facilities were under construction but should have checked website better. Wish our room had been made up earlier in the day. One elevator was broken, didn't know the swimming pool was under construction. There could have been more parking. Even though we found a spot, we had to check both parking lots and the spaces were very narrow. The breakfast was horrible, as was the coffee. We did appreciate having a place to breakfast but the charge for the simple breakfast was rediculous. You could have easily given a free breakfast for the quality wasn't worth the money. I can make a better breakfast at home. But for the classy Bessborough I think you could make it much more gourmet for the price. had some trouble with my toilet flushing . I did not know the fitness centre was under construction until I checked in. After I checked out I found a parking ticket on my car. I had asked for parking when I checked in. This was very inconvenient to have to come back into the hotel, the good thing was the guy that checked me in said he would take care of it for me. The gymn was not what it was 3 months ago. That was very disappointing. I woke up at around 3 a.m. to the woman in the room next to me shouting on the phone for over an hour. Can't think of anything... Found the room extremely small for the amount you paid. nothing. Ran out of hot water. no undercover parking. Too costly. Nothing. It was undergoing renovation , but found their public facilities like the lift(Elevator) and dining facilities dirty/dusty. For such a high end hotel the Bar service was poor and second rate. The rooms are a bit small for the price tag For them to charge C$15/day for an outside parking was a bit expensivet. Room was way too HOT! I will not recommend anyone to stay during summer. The gardens and patio at the rear of the hotel were extremely disappointing. They were inaccessible with no facilities. What a waste of a fine location!. The parking, would like to see more to accommodate the volume of guests. Pool and gym shut down for Reno and didnt discount ... Expected to walk across street to other hotel pool... Paid for parking and no stalls later on so had to pay more to park on street. That, you pay extra to park. At 4:00 A.M May 27, the fire alarm went off. Continued off & on for 30 minutes. No apology or contact from staff. Not impressed. Presently under renovations & the rate should reflect this. Ugly small room with horrible aspect. Heating/cooling system didn't work and staff could not help. Couldn't even get the window open. Bathtub was a disgrace with surface all peeled. When you choose the most expensive place in town you expect and deserve more! I guess our romance with the Bessborough is over. location good for exploring the city, but not the greatest for my purposes extremely expensive bathrooms cramped and dated. Poor housekeeping Unclean. The staff could not speak English. The rooms were way to small for the money paid.
