Love the location. The fact that is so quiet and could get a good night sleep. Love the beds and pillows The Wi-Fi actually works! Although we didn't take advantage this time, we really love having the option of breakfast in the morning (we will take advantage next time). My daughter (20 yrs old) is in love with the character and feeling of the Victorian style and so am I. We love the staff, very welcoming, professional, helpful and friendly.
all reviews » The hotel is a Victorian house and so had the more personal touch, the service was excellent and the location was very central to shopping etc. There was air conditioning available so we could adjust the room temperature accordingly. The beds were extremely comfortable and the shower was hot and easy to use. Beautiful old house turned into friendly hotel. Location is great. Close to McGill uni, Mont Royal and Place des Arts. Staff very friendly. Beautiful breakfast room with good basic breakfast. Not all the rooms (perhaps none do) have a private bathroom, though I personally was never impacted by that. I asked for a room with a bathroom for 3 nights and got a room with shared bath for 2 nights. The hotel staff had nothing to do with this mixup (I reserved online)--and they were very helpful fixing it. Lack of elevator, but it still was a great stay!. There wasn't anything I disliked. Breakfast was a bit skimpy but I didn't think there was going to be breakfast so it was a bonus!. Bathroom that was shared had some unpleasant (exposed pipes and crumbly wall). Decor should be refreshed keeping the Victorian look and atmosphere Breakfast: I prefer whole grain bread and cereals to white stuff!. Be aware there are no elevators to second or third floors Didn't bother me though, it kept the price down. The orange juice I had at breakfast felt really watered down. The stairs to the third floor are hard to climb after a day of walking. I could barely fit in the shower because of the size of it. Since we're going through a deep freeze it was a little cold in the room however within 5 mins of mentioning this to the staff they had promptly brought in a room heater which was more than enough. Such lovely people. The wireless is not very stable. Нет лифта . Front stairs are steep. There werent any montreal bagels for breakfast!. Shower too small for me to stand up in. Climbing the stairs ...but was well worth it we liked the historical feel of the hotel... Lots of stairs. Desk too small. the heater was broken and could not turn it off all night. Can use some new paint and new carpet. not too clean. No electricity point near the wash bassin for shaving. Had to use the shared bathroom. Breakfast had ice-cold boiled eggs and stuffy bread. It was included in the price, but either improve that or do not supply it. Generally a bit worn with slow and erratic in-room Wi-Fi which can only be accessed by giving a thumbs up on Facebook. A flight of stairs to the entrance could make access difficult for some infirm/elderly people. Presence of wi-fi which is weak. Breakfast which is same every day. Toilt is sepereted from the room. No elevator. No staff to help taking the bagge. I was wondering how this hotel got 3 star. Max to be 1 star. when staff promisses to a guest an early take away br-fst and does not keephis promise - it is a shame !!!.
