Our stay at the Waverley Inn was amazing from start to finish. Our room had two four poster beds, fridge, wonderful antique furniture. 24 hour tea and coffee in foyer, snacks supplied too. Free parking and walking distance to anywhere to anyplace you needed to be in Halifax. Breakfast was from 7:00 to 11:00 am so accommodated anyone's schedule. Always had more than enough, everything was always replenished quickly. No lift but that information is given up front so I question why this is put i.
all reviews » The Waverley is a must stay if you are in Halifax. Every thing feels so personal at the Waverley. We have stayed there a few times over the past few years and always look forward to any excuse to visit again. The staff are extremely considerate and accommodating. One of "The" nicest places we have ever stayed. Thanks so much to the wonderful staff and we hope to see you again soon :). The hotel is a restored historical structure, so quirky and unique. The location was wonderful allowing us to leave the car behind and walk to the places we wanted to visit. In the same block is the Henry House, now in my list of top five pubs. At both places staffs were wonderful. You felt like you made friends. Waverly Inn is a lovely Inn filled with antiques and charm. Each room is a step back in time. Front desk is very friendly and accommodating. The included continental breakfast is better than average. Great location - just minutes from Spring Garden Road, Citadel Hill and The Waterfront. I am intrigued by being able to stay in a room where William Henry or Oscar Wilde stayed. And I love the antique furniture and decor. And always having fresh coffee, tea and cookies available! While it was a very small room, it was well appointed and contained everything I needed. The staff were gracious and the location was very convenient. Really cute small hotel , would definitely stay there again. One of my earliest memories (1953) was seeing elephants in Halifax--the circus was in town!. The Waverley is one of our favourite hotels. It is a wonderful stay - every time. The hotel is elegant yet homey, the staff are courteous and helpful, and the location is a perfect base for walking around the city. The hotel had personality. It had period furniture and décor in keeping with it's style. The facilities though were modern ie very clean, efficient plumbing. Friendly staff who catered for our mixed family ages. Never got the wireless internet to work in the room; and the hotel should have a secure room for guests to store extra luggage so they don't have to climb a flight of stairs with a bag that won't be used. Thin walls. Better coffee and breakfast. You need to know the hotel has no elevators. If you need a lower floor room, ask for it. The room had no view and the bed creaked. No gluten free options for breakfast. The first floor is a little bit cold than we wanted. Fortunately the staff was very kind, he change a room for us. Thanks!. There was no jacuzzi, pool or gym which we have got used to and enjoy at other hotels. Breakfast could be improved. Not really anything to say here. If that's my only complaint the place can't be too bad. Our room was very warm, without the heat even being on. We had to have the window wide open all night. Room was small, but intimate. Nothing. The bathroom fan was really loud. Nothing. N/A. Breakfast was ok but could be really much better. Single rooms were a little small,"traditional double" is just 1 bed in cramped room.Good for 1 person though. Breakfast is ok, not more. Could be better. Breakfast food choices could be improved. This isn't their fault, but we came too early in the season so desk staff weren't always there. Wi-Fi is not good in my room.It is no-probrem at loby. Weird bathtub, tiny bathroom. Bathrooms could use an upgrade.
