We loved the staff and the meals in the restaurant. The wait staff and the chef were very friendly and the food was delicious. We had dinner and breakfast there. The hotel was close to the water and shopping. We had a lovely walk down by the water. Halifax is a pretty city and we have been here before. We are sure to come back again as we have family out this way and also just enjoyed the area very much.
all reviews » This was our first trip to Nova Scotia, and we wanted a hotel that within walking distance of points of interest, shopping, restaurants, etc. It certainly fulfilled all of those needs. The staff was very friendly and willing to give suggestions to first-time visitors. The rooms were very clean and well appointed. We enjoyed being able to get around quite a few places WITHOUT the need to step outside in the bad weather, even attending a concert at the Metro Centre from within. I also liked the suggestion from the clerk to provide us with an upgrade accommodation for a minimal fee. Great location near most of the atrractions in Halifax. I had a great view from my room which added to the ambiance of the hotel. The restaurant was excellent wih really good food and the service in the bar was exceptionally good. excellent staff, very good consumer orientated. Hotel was very nice and adjacent to a multitude of shops and restaurants. Beautiful walkways that connects right up to the casino without going outside, Facilities are tremendous. the staff were immediatley helpfull and friendley which made us feel compfortable and relaxed with our stay there,we will be bookong there again on our next get away. The only other thing is so small I am not sure it's worth mentioning but the light switch for the bathroom in our hotel room, is not in the bathroom but in the hall. This can be hard at night when you go to turn on the light and may put the wrong one on waking up someone else. We wished there had been an on-site complimentary breakfast, continental style or otherwise. The tap in the bathroom didn't work but it didn't spoil my experience. parking is expensive and hard to connect to hotel unless you know how to go about it. My room had a bit of dirt in the bathroom. The room was dated..I feel for almost $200/ngt it should have been nicer. We were on the 4th floor and the room had old carpet and the wallpaper was peeling..not what I expected. -The rooms were a little outdated. $20 per day for parking is CRAZY - hotel guest should be allowed to park for free as they are staying at the hotel. Upgraded to a King room with Harbour View from a Quuen - Queen room was must larger and nicer, but the view was amazing. the entrance to the hotel. The room was cold ..heat would not kick in right away ....also the dinning area was very slow ....the food was good ...but service was slow. room with common terrace had noisy people outside room fan was noisy. No airport shuttle. I did not think the parking rate was reasonable, should be included in the room rate. Restaurant was not recommended by other guests. elevator next to my room and the dining room prices. When booking a room through letsbookhotel.com, the hotel could not provide a receipt listing expenses at checkout. no breakfast. paying for parking. room and hallways looking tired. thought the room should have been more upscale for a premier room. difficult to find. To corporate feeling Delta in Quebec and St. John Felt much warmer in character There was a 87 year old couple whose plan was leaving at 12 pm night and hotel would not let them stay Citing they could therefore not sell the room They could have offered a reduced rate or another compromise These people from England DEFINATELY would not tell their friends so there is much more potential list than the one night. To find the hotel was difficult. I came in a rented car and being so close to a busy corner where people are watching traffic while turning it is easy to miss the turn off. If there is a map online showing the exact location, I missed it. The "upgraded" room fee ($20 + taxes) was in deplorable condition. The ceiling had suffered water damage and was unsightly, the wallpaper was loosened at almost every seam and the harbour view was a glimpse over a wide outdoor patio with a high wall. The door to this patio had a broken lock thus there was no access form the room. We didn't like the fact that the booking we had made via letsbookhotel.com had not transferred across to the Delta reservation system although we did get rooms at the price we booked plus the very high car parking charge ($20). Small room Limited facilities Expensive restaurant. total confusion to get from lobby to room; terrible to get from parking to hotel and return. Management re water problem, did not inform us,couldn't find door to hotel from parking garage without help,only sign is at door after finding. Hotel room elevator too far from garage. Signs not clear or not enough signs to indicate where things are.
