My lifestyle never changes. I can't stand the choreographed and artificial style of those so-called 5 star hotels which in my opinion should be inhabited by clowns, politicians, and other pretenders who do not know what value for money is. At the Banff International Hostel nobody salutes or bows at me. The staff are real people I expect to meet anywhere and they are more helpful and more friendly than those folks at the 5 star hotels. all reviews » We had an awesome stay at this hostel! The staff was very very kind and as it seems not to be too busy at the time we were traveling, they even offered us a bigger room, including bathroom and kitchen, for the same price! It was like an apartment and we felt very very comfortable. Breakfast was continental but not too bad to start the day. It wasn't too loud but there were still some people to talk to in the evening. Located close to grocery and the centre of the city. Very nice spot - Would al. The Staff were very friendly and helpful, we arrived early and they still checked us in and we were leaving early the next morning but were still offered breakfast even though the kitchen wasn't 'open'. The location was perfect, it is walking distance to almost everything. the rooms were clean and the beds comfortable. having a bathroom in each room was fantastic. I was up there while Banff was shut off from the roads due to flooding. The staff was extremely helpful and great to work with in my checking-in and checking-out without knowing when I would be leaving. The rooms are clean with nice bathrooms and the common areas are very nice with good wi-fi connection. I got the private room with queen bed. It was clean, like a hotel room but cheaper, and with access to a kitchen. The staff were friendly. Wifi was nice. All-in-all, a nice place to take my mom for a visit. I lived in the dormitry room. The service is very good and staff are very friendly and helpful. It is an excellent place for people who travel alone but want to meet people from different places. I love how helpful and friendly they were. They were able to were able to help me book busses show me trails any questions I had they were there to help. I would def. stay there again. But again, given the location of the hostel, I'm not sure how to remedy that issue either. I don't feel any dissatisfaction there. It was hard to carry my luggage to the 3rd floor!. breakfast could be better.. no towels in the room .. guys in room drink until midnight,it exciting and also make me awake several times a nigght. Thin walls... hmmm... Maybe the breakfast could stay open until 11 or 11:30? It's only until 10:30. Yes, that's my only "complain". I actually found the place awesome!. some mornings there was not much condiments / milk available for breakfast. Room felt stuffy. Nice place. Accept BUS station. It's like no one around. No washroom,no place where to wait for the buses(out from Banff)Calgary for 1:20'(to 10:15pm)on July 24 We was waiting for bus to Calgary for 1'25,bugs and no place to get in.No any inf., no choice to buy a tickets if you have to go now. ????. The staff made a mistake placing a man in the females room and this guy talked too much... Too many threats of fines for not following the rules. Nothing have breakfast. Please check the door locks in the unit, the door lock on the wash room is not working on the assigned unit given to us. a little bit far from the center. There is no seating available except the bunkbed. The room needs a paint job. Price is very high for what it includes. We could have stayed in a much better place for the same or just a bit more money. Breakfase was scanty. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ANY COST if you are an ordinary visitor who is just looking for a confortable sleep in a summer night. The pipelines in the wall constantly make noises like gun-shots. Travellers chat and smoke in the yard even after 2pm. There is no curtain on the windows in the bathroom. Just a friednly reminder that no sleeping bags or pillows are allowed. It was overpriced for a hostel. No A/C in rooms. Rooms very crowded for number of beds. Poor lighting in rooms. I was charged over $50 although your website stated the price would be $43. There are no towels in the room and if you want a towel you pay a dollar more +5 dollar deposit. I have used hostels all over the world, I can think of only one other time where my roommates have come in at 3 o'clock in the morning intoxicated, it was a different hostel but the same town. Although I stay in the town of Banff about 6 to 8 times a year, I will never use this hostel again, nor will I recommend it. The room was dirty as well as sheets. No soap in the washroom, lot of dust, bed-bugs and not quiet during the night. Common kitchen was dirty, we took off a slice of bread from the package and it was wet and had peanut butter on it. I spent an awful night there and would never recommend it.
