Good room set up for friends travelling together - the two queen bed room was almost like a two bedroom - allowed for privacy. Would also work well for a couple with little kids - two TVs so kids could be in bed and adults could still be up. Liked that they used LED pot lights. The breakfast was continental plus - great selection. Hot Tubs seemed very popular.They had a laundry - nice if you're travelling.
all reviews » The location is right in the heart of Banff. The friendly reception staff upgraded my room to a suite at no additional charge because of construction at the rear of the building and without a complaint or request from me. Free internet in the lobby and free parking at the rear of the property. Breakfast was the usual continental one but service was with a smile. I think this hotel is an awesome hotel. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Having breakfast included is a bonus. The outdoor hot tubs with fireplace are beautiful and great to relax in. Rooms have been renovated and are very clean and comfortable. I have stayed here a few times and think it is great value for the money. The staff especially reception were outstanding. Organised tours etc for us. Very knowledgable with regards to facilities in town etc. Room was great and spacious with main bedroom and 2nd bedroom separated by the open style bathroom (vanities). Hot tub was fun. Breakfast was only continental but more than sufficient. The clean, spacious room was perfect. The suite contained a separate bedroom and living room, so it looked more like an apartment. The breakfast was excellent. The outdoor hot tubs were very much appreciated. On top of it the location in down-town Banff was great, close to all the restaurants and shops. We thought the breakfast was excellent. The granola, oatmeal and fruit was really yummy. The hottubs were wonderful. The rooms were clean and we liked the clean/modern decor. The linens and pillows were comfortable, however mattresses weren't great and we woke with backaches every morning. The hotel is located walking distance into Banff which we loved. The rooms are clean and beds were perfect. The central courtyard hot tubs with outdoor fireplace were a big hit with us. The staff were friendly and helpful. The quality of the facility for the price is exceptional. This Hotel is just a good little hotel that offers the most value for your dollar. While in Banff, the idea is to spend little time in your room. Upon returning from the days adventures the hot tub and steam room are a welcome amenity. I've stayed at this hotel 3 times so far. Liked that breakfast was included. Kept noise to a minimum after 10 pm which was good. Rooms very comfortable and bed nice and big. Even though they had building work going on, they kept us well informed and wasn't too disruptive. Very enjoyable stay overall. Very good location to access the town centre and restaurants. While we had booked a superior room, were upgraded to a premium room. No mountain view, as described in the details though. Construction at the hotel was a minor issue and parking not as plentiful as might be expected. Currently undergoing external refurbishment (very minor inconvenience). Bed was too soft and wobbly. Sink for washroom was right at the entrance to the room. Towels were too small. Very limited parking spaces. No in-room dining available. Having to leave!!!. I did not like the fact that every time we wanted to go to the hot tub we had to travel out side to get there, but over all it was a wonderful place to stay at. room descriptions state 'mountain views' however that is only for the front rooms! You must request that specifically or you may well end up at the back. No complaints. Location on main street difficult for parking when you have your own car. Underground garage helped to alleviate that problem. Also lack of a/c led to some stuffy air in room first day until windows had been opened for quite awhile. The lift was out of order for three days. The refrigerator of the room was a bit noisy for sleeping, so I had to remove the plug. The undwerground parking is very small. Unfortunately there is no air conditioning and it was extremely hot when we stayed - we had to leave the door open all night to try to cool it down but it was super noisy. The lift, laundry, carpark and hot tub were all out of service during our stay, but we were still charged premium rates and even slugged with an extra fee for having 3 adults rather than 2 adults, 2 children. In light of all the things out of service, I'd like to think they could have waived this extra charge. No microwave in room. Should offer more Gluten Free options for breakfast. Don't rely on a wake up call. Set your clock. Could have more privacy since the bathroom is wide open to the bedroom. ( bring a bathrobe). The breakfast venue so small a little bit discomfort. Our room was extremely hot, we slept,( or tried) with the sliding doors open all night and the room never did cool down. There was a strong smell of cleaning supplies in my room, which is surprising for an Eco-friendly hotel. Entrance was restricted due to construction. man in breakfast area was a bit rude. Elevator broken for 3 days/2 nights that we were there. We were on 3rd floor so while a good workout, it was inconvenient. agreed towels could have been a little larger, but this did not present a huge issue for us. Nothing. Nothing. The fact that all the rooms open outside - need to dress in cokd weather to move from the room to the main building for breakfast, front desk or spa facilities. No pool, no lockers in hot-tub changing rooms. Bath towels a little small. The outdoor entrance into our first room. We changed to an interior room. Although clean and pretty quiet, there were several burnt-out light bulbs. We could have used a DVD player. No air conditioning, which was not a problem, but the suggestion made by the hotel to leave patio window open, is a good idea, unless your room is on the ground floor on the driveway, as ours was.
