Just it was all nice...!!!Hostel Lavele is situated in a very convenient place next to Vitosha main street . Actually , it is not a typical hostel. It's modern beautiful and crystal clean place ...from the rooms and the breakfast area till the bathroom!In addition , Mario ( the receptionist ) is a very courteous guy ready to share any useful information around the city .I asked him to give me some cards , because I'm 100% sure that next time I'm gonna visit Bulgaria I'll stay there :-).
all reviews » Mario the owner of the hostel is very polite, friendly and interested in people and their stories. The rooms are small and you have to share a small bathroom with the other guests, but the atmosphere is very warm and nice. It is clean and well designed. They make their own joghurt and bread and you are in the center of the city. You can visit everything by feet and I'd absolutely like to come back! The city and the people are great, too! Very friendly and fascinating. The hostel is great, it's a great value for the price, it has the best beds of any hostel in Sofia (I've stayed in many) and it aims at a more chill crowd of hostel goers. If you want to go to Sofia and have great travel advice, enjoy the city to all hours AND be able to get a good night's sleep if you so desire - this is the place. It's a nice hostel next to the important places to visit and with very good options of transport and eating. People at the reception are very friendly and helpful!! They gave me a lot of good information and helped me to get in the histel, since I had some problems on my trip. I would totally recommend it!!. We stayed in the apartment which was clean and very comfortable. Home made bread and yoghurt at breakfast was a nice touch. Well situated for the centre of the city and within walking distance of the bus station. Helpful friendly staff. Good value for money - we would happily stay here again. We were in Sofia for a wedding and this place was in the centre, just a few hundred meters from the church and Sheraton where the reception was. We took an apartment, it was spacious but we just slept there, comfortable bed. This is budget, you get what you pay for. I liked the great breakfast, the clean rooms, the clean, nicely painted walls and varnished floors. The closeness of the shops and city attractions. The bathrooms which are nicely tiled like new and the copious hot water. The personnel of this hostel was very pleasant - we were arriving really late (after midnight) and receptionist was waiting for us. This is a nice place for an economic stay close to the very centre of the city. Location, location, location. Included breakfast was simple but tasty. The only good point was the location, 10 minutes walk from main attractions. The flat was big. But... Good location, large apartment. the main building. Breakfast, although crowded and in a basement, was decent. They let as us the computer on the reception. Nothing. Our bedroom (for 3 persons ), hasn't had mirror . The home-baked bread would be better, but then no other hostel bakes their own bread so... Bathrooms are shared and sometimes they were not in a veeeery nice condition, but not because of some hostel administration. There are ladies who clean them many times. Unfortunatelly there are some guests who are not very careful and educated.. Instead of that I surely keep recommending the hostel!!. Access to the apartment is via a very old and dirty lift or staircase.Toilet seat in the apartment was broken and there was no corkscrew. There was only one portion of cereal available at breakfast when we got there. I broke my leg on the uneven pavement immediately outside the apartment which was unlucky so take care. There was a kitchen but noting to cook on or a fridge. No dining table either. The bathroom was old and got flooded after every shower. Karaoke bar just outside so kind of noisy. Nothing!. No parking space reserved for clients, have to pay an hourly fee during daytime. No wi-fi connection was available in the room, only closer to the reception. We were tired and we didn't mind having a karaoke night club that was pretty loud right across the apartment. For some people this could be heaven for others - hell. The one bedroom apartment has a pull out couch that was broken. The two bedroom apartment had very basic furnishing and bathroom needs updating. Overall we would stay here again when the location matters and on a budget. There was nothing to not like, although parking might be an issue for anyone with a vehicle. Nothing. nothing. Lack of mirror in 1st floor toilet. Absent of air conditioner and a number of mosquitoes in the night. Limited number of bathrooms. Would be great if it was small fridge in the room... careful if you've over 6 foot tall - banged the top of my head on the gate on the way out, as inside the gate is raised a couple of inches compared to outside!. Wifi connection in apartment not as strong as in main reception area which was a little frustrating at times. However we would definately stay here again. Staff attentive, but didn't speak English, except the manager who was only there in the afternoon. I had an apartment (in an adjacent building) with a kitchenette, which needed more basic equipment. the shower curtain doesn't prevent the water to fall to the floor; only 1 bathroom on each floor, so I guess when the hostel is fully booked it make take some waiting time to get to the bathroom. Staff at reception desk doesnt speak english. I got a one-bedroom apt. Instead of two-bedroom apt. As booked, which I only saw now when looked back to the reservation. Probably the hostel rented the two-bedroom apt. To someone else and gave me the smaller apartment without telling me a word about it or offering a discount. Not nice. The one-bedroom apt. isn't very clean and is in an old building next to the hostel with a very scary and small old elevator (apt is on 5th floor). Not as soundproof as we would have liked. Small sign so little hard to find. Bathroom floods when using shower. Shared bathroom is really small (and had some trouble draining water). Bathrooms. bad wifi at the room, beds. Be aware, read facilites carefully, there is no private bathroom!. Shower in one small room with toilet bowl - it's not comfortable. No bed reading lights. The flat was horrible. no noise isolation. It was almost impossible to sleep with the trafic and the disco club just behind the windows. The kitchen in the flat wasn't a kitchen (no fridge, no microwave, no heat plate; it was just an empty room with a faucet). The shower was broken. The building where the flat is was scarying, really, even considering bulgarian standard. The breakfast in the hostel was just ok. No home-made bread. And the breakfast staff was disagreeable. The apartment we got was big but a bit rough - bare bulbs hanging from wires and so on. Worst of all, no reception was there in the morning when we wanted to check out and print airline tickets. Only an unhelpful cleaning lady who refused to let us talk to the owner on the phone. the appartments which are not in the main building and of which no photo was present. There are much better places than still loud crowded dank hostel. Walls thin as paper so all noise travels. Bathrooms are small dirty and only one provided per floor. Shower is literally on top of toilet so water sprays all over bathroom. Room was very poor, dirty (small animals on the floor), just one reading lamp. Bathroom was very small and that is way always dirty. The staff didn't really care about the guests except the guy on the reception, but he wasn't always there. Breakfast looked very cheap and it was tasteless and the location in the basement is not very good. We don't recommend these hostel!. It was very hard to find. The room did not look like the pictures on the internet. In a very,very poor run down condition. Bathroom was a disgrace. Broken windows and horrible hallway to the room. Very noisy bar next to the bedroom window.The staff were not available when needed. Breakfast was poor. The list of things wrong with this place is very long. I would not recommend it. It spoilt the beginning of our holiday.
