Great location, only ten minute walk to all of the major sites in the city center, and shops, cost per night was brilliant value for money, I loved the fact that it had a lovely gym and swimming pool which was very clean and well kept. Great choice of healthy food for breakfast and staff was attentive and helpful, all round a good place to stay, there is even a hotel Casino for those that want the experience of Gambling.Loved Sofia a great place to go to experience the capital of Bulgaria, full.
all reviews » It was my second time when I stayed with Princess Hotel and I should say this time I received much better impressions vs. Nov. 2012. First of all the room on 11 floor (before it was 5th floor) given to us was bigger and cleaner, furniture is not old (at least it looked like), with necessary facilities (slippers, shower-gel, conditioner for hairs etc.). I noted improvements around breakfast. Water in the swim pool was nice, not too cold as before... Free bus-shuttle to airport which transfers yo. Location, Space (it's big), free underground Parking, free & fast WiFi in the room, 25 meter long indoor swimming pool (free), free extra bed for our 4 year old child, clean large room, nice breakfast, generally we were pleased because it was one of the best value for money places we've stayed!. Good views on Sofia from the higher floors. Extremely efficient and helpful reception. Access to wellness area. Very clean rooms. Simple and reliable wireless Internet access. Affordable mini bar prices. The staff was very helpful and very nice. The hotel is located near the centre of the city. The parking in realy safe (guarded and free of charge during the stay). The breakfast was very good. Every time when I visit Sofia, I stay in this hotel. Staff (especially at reception) is always good and this time there is a big improvement about the foods at breakfast and the restaurant... I go for the spa, the swimming-pool is wonderful, the girls at the reception very helpfull. I take a subscription for ten massages.. So, that means, I did like it. the comfort, the food, some of the staff that were wonderfully helpful and friendly. especially the bellboys! the waitresses in the resturante. location, a short walk from the railway station, and in the morning the staff got us a very good taxi for the airport. No Negatives really , slight issue with cleaners in the rooms not mopping the bathroom floor at all in the 3 nights that I stayed there, but other than that no real problems. Needs some maintenance in some areas. Busy at the entrance area due to Casino next door. Carpets at some places a bit old. The bathroom was not very clean (the toilet seat had spots, as if it was not cleaned). Rooms need to be renewed... the breakfast. very common and very bad coffee. You are in a 5 star hotel,in your jacuzzi equipped suite, and you have to pay extra for a sauna ???. The heating sistem of the hunior suite was not working properly. But they fixed it. Watch out for the city taxi drivers waiting in front of the hotel. Half of them take chances with the fee they charge the other half charge what they are supposed too. No restaurant for evening meal. The receptionist was untrustworthy. Although she had my booking with all my details, including my bank card, she insisted to pay the room up front. wi-fi could not be used in the rooms. Small Gym. notting. Wi-Fi connection is not available in the room (407). Elevators do not work properly. Guest have to spend long time to wait an elevator comes. Price of the spa is about 2-3 times more than other spas in the area. The beds are absolutely terrible. We had a Suite and still it would have been better to sleep directly on the floor, and I would have if it weren't for the fact that the carpets show an age of about 25 years... Overall, there are much better hotels in the area that are more comfortable and where you don't have to deal with bus loads of casino players filling the lobby. Looking very tired. needs major upgrade. No face cloths,( wash cloths) in Bathroom which forces one to use larger towels. The tea now comes in a big pre-made urn, no cold milk for drinking or cereal at breakfast. room - not 4 stars a wall was dirty in the room very small window the room was simple, modest design, not good looking. breakfast poor service lacking interest. thin curtains in rooms. bed was to stif. Too much noise in the corridors, no matter day and night. And the newly implemented fee for short time visitors. Airco wasn't working although it was 30 degrees Celcius Swimming pool outdated, and swimming was only allowed with a swimming cap. Staff not too helpful, we had to continue asking, no spontaneous advice or tips. Example: we wanted to visit to the Vitosha park, but it wasn't so clear to us how to get there and what we could do there. We hardly got any information, just short answers to our questions. the hotel too big, too many people at breakfast, the hotel is reminiscent of socialism,. The breakfast. Poor rooms cleaning, bathroom old , beds are the most uncomfortable i've ever slept on, we are travelling a lot for business and pleasure and i have never seen this kind of beds, tv, and the most crazy thing is the food this bed room service food i've never tried !!!! The only one thing for this hotel is max. one night for business- sleeping at the lobby drinking and thats it !. Very cheap furnishing, poorly designed bathroom, which can cause accident when go to toilet inside bathroom, no sound proof windows & doors, even at 12 floor,can hear all the traffic, neighbors both up- down floor & hall way, things all very old. Only lobby appears better. Wifi very weak in the room. Smoking&Casino it is just ugly with smoking everywhere!! Location not close to central. not clean. old and dirty swimming pool and sauna facilities, not equivalent for 4* hotel. I have booked for superior room but they have given normal standar room.. This is scandal..
