  The Ariane is a beautiful hotel we could not fault anything about our stay, in fact we have booked to return next year. We stayed in a family room which was very spacious. We traveled with our teenage daughters who are studying WW1 at school and they feel the trip has helped them with their studies. If you do not eat in the restaurant within the Arian - The greeting we received when we arrived was very welcoming - this 'set the scene' for our experience of the hotel. We had hired a car for our exploration of the area, so were very glad that there was plenty of parking space. The room was spacious and very clean. It was a very easy walk to Menin Gate and to the town itself! We have been traveling around Europe for a month & stayed in many hotels - the Hotel Ariane was one of the best. Thanks to the staff for making our two night stay so goo

  Extremely efficient - we arrived late on a Sunday and everything was laid out at reception ready for us - just pick up the key and go to the room!!!! Marvellous.   I have ticked City trip as there is no accurate choice. This is for the dedicated wwi enthusiast and the "In Flanders" museum & Mennin gate are within a two - five minute walk from the Alliance. For us vet's it is a must and quite moving. I was impressed by the good nature and warmth from the locals and the respect from the young. A lovely tow... what people say » n & lovely people. The staff at our hotel were very friendly and helpful and went the extra mile to provide a meal on our late arrival. If you wan - Central location in Ypres. Clean, simple, comfortable, functional rooms with excellent shower. Breakfast was continental, boil your own eggs, cereals, juice, cold meats and cheese with fresh bread and each table had its own bowl of fresh bread rolls and pastries. Very nice and as substantial as you want it to be. There was a bar area but so close to the town centre there are many restaurants and bars to spend time in so I never saw anyone using it although it was possible. Also no evening meals

  Marc and Sonja are a very friendly couple and nothing is too much trouble to make your stay enjoyable. We had a problem with our car during our stay and they helped us tremendously - making phone calls to garages, driving us to collect the car and lending us bikes to use. The B&B is bright, clean and airy and you have the use of a fridge an - Sat nav co-ordinates worked perfect to reach B & B. I had informed of a very early arrival to Sonia, owner and if we could leave our bags and use a loo etc. She was brilliant and as the room was available she had got it ready as we arrived at 09 30 hrs. Mark* her husband spent quite some time with us to outline numerous places of interest concerned with WW1 fields and wrote down a detailed list of proposed sights to view. they were both very welcoming and made us feel easy to move around.   Lovely welcome from a host who could not have been more accommodating. Thanks to Benoit we were able to watch the Last Post ceremony from very close quarters. His help was very much appreciated. The apartment has unbelievable views of the Menin Gate. We were able to gaze out at it from sunrise to sunset. The top (two) floors apartment is beautifully deco - We stayed at Menin Gate House for 4 nights and could not believe how amazing this place is, Benny meet us on the first night and gave us prime position during the Menin Gate service and it was something we will never forget. We ddid nearly all of the battlefields and memorials and they are all so handy from this location. The rooms are decorated in honour of our troops that paid the ultimate sacrifice and its people like Benny that will never let anyone forget. I can highly recommend this place
