Located in the centre of Bregenz, Hotel Helvetia is a historical building dating back to 1876, located just a 5-minute walk from the Pfänderbahn Cable Car and a 2-minute drive from Lake Constance. All rooms at the Helvetia have a private bathroom, wooden furniture, desk and TV. Some units have wood-panelled walls and views of the surrounding Alpine landscape. A breakfast buffet is served each morning. Hotel Helvetia has a ski storage room, and private parking is available on site free of charge. Staff are happy to help organize boat tours on the lake. The historic part of town is a 5-minute walk away. The Martinsturm tower, a former granary, and the Kunsthaus, an art venue, can also be visited there. The train station can be reached in a 5-minute walk.

Good location for the local town with a good range of shops, bars and restaurants. I only stayed for one night whilst traveling to Switzerland. The room was basic but very clean and functional. Maybe not too comfortable in the heat of the summer. It was raining when I stayed so much cooler than it can sometimes get. Other than the fact that there was no lift, we could find no problem with the hotel. It was in a great central location in Bregenz, with free car parking.

The weather on the night I stayed but you cannot book the weather :-). The hotel is spread over three floors and the fact that there is no lift is not made under the hotel information until right at the end, after the booking section. I feel that it should be in the hotel details, so that people are aware of the fact prior to booking their stay. Smallish room and bathroom. No fan or air con therefore noisy with windows open. No elevator, noisy fan in bathroom, no room decor at all. Check in opens at 16.00 hrs - not convenient if you arrive earlier. Sometimes poor internet connection while staying inthe room. Very small toilet,. No elevator for 3rd floor. Rooms very dated as was the bed linen. Orange towels! Bregenz was a bit of a let down. Wished I'd stayed in Lindau across the Lake which was beautiful. Check in and out hours are not very suitable. Not air conditioning. a bit expensive for the quality of the facilities and breakfast. Room, bed, carpet, etc should be updated / renovated. Price quality was not good compared to all our other bookings. The Hotel stay from the seventhies. no elevator powders parking,old furnitures... need a big renoyation!.
