We enjoyed our stay at the Meriton in Kent Street very much. It is nicer and cleaner than a similar priced apartment hotel nearby that we had previously stayed in. On arrival we were greeted by helpful, professional reception staff and the two requests we had made when booking were met. Thank you. Our room was clean, spacious and relaxing. It also had a stunning view which helped make our stay even more enjoyable. Next time though we would prefer a room overlooking Darling Harbour. The hotel .
all reviews » We were really happy with the apartments. We stayed in a studio- it was a good size with contemporary decor and furnishings and view to the street. It had thoughtful touches like a coffee plunger, and complimentary dishwasing tablets and clothes washing machine liquid. The staff were great - the concierge noticed we were exhausted after catching an overnight flight and (without being asked) arranged for a room cleaned so we cleaned so we could check in early. We found the location really conven. First and foremost the Staff did whatever was possible to make guests feel comfortable and at home with just a touch of a grand adventure. The balconies were of course a great benefit to keen photographers like myself, the at times inclement weather not withstanding. The spaciousness of the apartment, the kitchen and its facilities, especially its full size refrigerator, the hanging space, the drawers in the bedroom, the security of electronic door locks, the safe, the supplied toiletries in th. We had book studio room but out daughter from Newcastle said she may drive down to see us - she is pregnant and we dont see her as often as we would like. We mentioned this to Kevin who booked us in and he spoke to manager Niko - they moved us to a two bedroom suite and said they would lock the second bedroom/bathroom and if our daughter did not come the fee would remain the same. Our daughter did come and stayed Saturday night - so it was wonderful to be able to say there was a bedroom for her. This high rise (54 floors, I think!) is well-located, close to Darling Harbor and Chinatown and a 20-minute brisk walk to Circular Quay. We had a queen bed with kitchen. Sparkling clean, well-appointed, and furnished with dishes, glassware, oven, kettle, refrigerator, dishwasher, and washer/dryer (difficult to figure out but what a plus, since we'd just arrived from a 3-week cruise!), the apt had a large bathroom, large flat screen tv, blackout curtains, free wifi, and a comfortable bed. The ro. It was the perfect place for us as very old friends. There were 6 of us that have known one another for over 30 years. The occasion was that the last us, Tracey turned 50. We were to go the Fleetwood Mac but that was cancelled. So to stay in the hotel, be upgraded from the sub penthouse to the penthouse was perfect. In fact it was the same room that another one of us, Gemma, booked for her 50, 2 years ago. So now we have stayed in that room 5602 twice now. If we could not go to Fleetwood Mac, t. The Meriton Apartments are certainly a great place to stay in Sydney, a city that is inevitably not cheap in the accommodation stakes. I was in a very comfortably-sized Studio apartment and it had everything you needed, including a kitchenette if you want to cook. Sydney is a large city, and it's a bit of a walk to the must-see Harbour/Opera House/The Rocks, but that means you get to take in some of the city itself. The Meriton is also only 5 minutes away from Darling Harbour, and is near lots . It feels like luxury without a massive price tag. So handy to everything the city has to offer. Staff are very friendly and willing to help wherever possible. I felt secure with the elevator system. Room cleaners are regular. Free toiletries in the bathrooms. Washer and dryer are extremely handy in the apartments. Love the fact of aircons in each room and lounge! Like that they use mattress and pillow protectors cause not all do! Apartment was very clean. Even with the few negatives, I will sta. We had a one bedroom apartment and it was amazing! Beautiful views of Sydney and loads of natural light. So much space to relax and unwind after a long day exploring Sydney. Even though it was cold and didn't use it that much, the balcony was great to catch the sunsets. The kitchen had all of the necessary kitchenware to cook, which was fantastic, plus the supermarket was just down the road. The apt. got serviced everyday and always very clean. Would definitely stay here again and recommend it . Friendly, efficient staff who upgraded us to a Penthouse suite for our four nights. Amazing views. Free wifi. We didn't use the pool, spa and gym but saw that they were clean and a good size. Very convenient to supermarket and other shopping. Lots of cafes nearby. Had a great meal at the Vietnamese cafe very close - they permitted us to bring our own wine as they weren't licenced. Good service and excellent food. Nespresso coffee machine - but I think this was only for the penthouse. Lovely bat. We were pleasantly surprised with the accessibility of the apartments, given that this is the first time for us in Australia. I could go on and on regarding the location of the apartments - it is right there in the heart of the cbd. Every major attraction in Sydney is walkable from here. The facilities in the apartment were really good, and quite in line with the 'luxury' tag that the hotel boasts of. The staff were friendly throughout. In short, we had a very memorable stay at Meriton - and wo. We stayed in Sydney for 4 days following a 17 day cruise from Honolulu. The only thing missing was prepared meals! - and the amenities made it easy to gradually morph back to cooking for ourselves! - room service menu was available! Absolutely enjoyed our stay. So many activities easily accessible from this location. Servio, the concierge was VERY accomodating - he was extremely helpful in investigating tours and options to provide the best travel experience for the individual. I loved the amenities, the view of Sydney Harbour and city precincts was spectacular from the 48th floor. Spotlessly clean with a 5 star rating. Loved the eco friendly reminder for guests. Loved the peace and serenity secured by having a space between 2 front doors to our suite 4802 B. Great location, Last but not least staff were amazingly friendly, courteous and so helpful. We were quite impressed by the professional hospitality qualities shown by each staff member,. We were very impressed with the spaciousness, comfort and modern appearance of our unit. Also the fantastic views of Darling Harbour from our (high up) window. In most respects, this unit surpassed the much more expensive (and supposed up-market) Radisson Hotel Room I stayed in recently in London. Very conveniently situated to Darling Harbour, China Town, transport facilities (eg. Town Hall Train Station), and the major George Street of Sydney. Location, Location, Location. Walking to China Town, Darling Harbour, Paddy's Market, City Centre etc. If you are keen, you can also walk to Circular key. I had a young baby attached to me, therefore, I use Bus Service 555 to travel around. Did I miss Town Hall Train Station that is 1 block away. We had a 1 bedroom apartment and they are just cosy and compact to provide you the possible comfort. Staff are friendly but you hardly see them. The location was excellent. Close to Pitt and George Streets, but also next door to Chinatown. We were on the 40th floor so we had no street noise, with the exception of the odd siren off in the distance. There was absolutely no noise whatsoever from apartments on the same floor or from the lifts. The service was great. There were a couple of maintenance issues that were remedied within an hour of reporting them. The apartment layout and design is great. Safe was handy to have. The beds was very comfortable and having the room tidied and bed made for when we got back from a hard day was just great. Having laundry facility in apartment was great too! Being close to major shopping was a bonus and with the train station just a short walk was handy. Wish I had of learnt about the bus with travelled just two major streets though!. Service and location was excellent. We stayed 2 nights at Kent street but in different rooms each night. We also stayed 1 night at Campbell street. I have also visited my parents when they stayed at brisbane meriton. The accommodation is always excellent. Francis at Kent street helped us with our bags and directions. We were able to walk to a lot of places without relying on either public transit to car rental. The rooms were very comfortable. And the kitchen was well stocked with plates, cups, utensils etc and especially being able to have coffee in the a.m. We didn't otherwise spend a lot of time in the room. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone. Surjeet and other staff members were exceptionally efficient and friendly. After being on a cruise for 7 days, it was really appreciated that we were provided with an early check in. Originally we thought we would have to wait until 2 pm however, Surjeet was able to offer an early check in which was just fabulous. If I need to stay in Sydney again we will be staying with the Meriton. highly rate the facility 5* one of the best places i have stayed and a stunning view of Sydney. better than using a hotel more personal and comfortable. the faciluty is excellently fitted out as an apartment from washing machine to dryier to all you need cooking utinsils, the owner & operator has thought it through well for personal use and items you will need highly commended. Great location and right in the city center that I could walk to Darling Harbor in 10mins. My studio apartment was in 46/F with nice city view, plenty of space in room. Surprised to see everyday the dirty dishes were washed and the towels were replaced, I thought I would only have a touch-up instead of full service for a 4-night stay. 1. The size of the apartment was great--and the fully furnished kitchen made the stay very enjoyable. 2. We also really liked the convenience of a washer and dryer for laundry. 3. The location was wonderful: within walking distance of great shopping, the harbours, etc. Can't imagine a better location to stay, particularly for first-time visitors to Sydney. I was having trouble deciding between a hotel and the meriton properties. But I decided to choose meriton and I'm pleased I did. The apartment has everything, washer, dryer, iron, soap, shampoo, cable tv, dining table, built in robes. It's like living at your own place.. And probably larger than most hotel rooms at the same price. I'd definitely stay again. Fantastic location, walking distance to restaurants, main shopping malls and circular quay. Town hall train stop 1 min from apartments. Stayed for 4 nights with our 15 month old daughter was perfect choice. It was spacious, had an enclosed deck/patio with a stunning view of Darling Harbor and the river beyond, and despite being called a "studio" the bedroom was a separate room. Excellent location with easy access to main tourist locations - Opera House, Bridge, Darling Harbour, Ferries, some in walking distance others just a short bus ride away. Worth paying the extra for a high floor . Comfortable and clean apartment with good security. Plenty of bars and eating places within the immediate environs. The apartments are situated close to Town Hall station and a very easy walk to most of the city's highlights. The two bedroom apartment was spacious, clean, comfortable and had an excellent view. We were able to store our luggage prior to check in while we went sightseeing. We love everything about it from the day we walked in to check in and the day we left. The only slight downside was the bed in our room. Although fairly comfortable it was way too soft - and both of us were waking up with kind of slightly aching backs. The only niggle I felt was indeed feeling the ridge between the two king sized single beds used to make the ensemble. I am a very light sleeper and perhaps a softening cover over the total bed would be appreciated by sleepers like myself. Thank you for your consideration. No flexibility in having rooms available early, even with a request made weeks ahead of time. Rigid with 2pm. But they did store our luggage. Unfortunately the bedding isn't the cleanest. Bro took his body fluid torch and glasses which revealed undesirables on the quilts. Had to ask for more blankets cause there's only one very thin one on each bed, but that's no major drama. The aircon in the main room didn't seem to work properly...even when set on 25, it never got real warm. Window in bro's room let cold winter air in and it was cold that high up (2606). When we arrived our room wasn't ready and we were offered a room on the 17th level (not floor). The room was smaller and the view was restricted by neighbouring buildings, it was awful with limited natural light. We returned back to the front desk and decided to wait for our original room which was on the 33rd level; it was a major improvement!!. The shower doors kept sticking and the tiny shower head and water pressure made us long for our own at home. There was quite a lot of dust accumulated in the ac vent. The curtains also could do with some cleaning. The were very few movie channels in the existing selection - we really missed channels like hbo, Star Movies, mgm and Movies Now. Nothing. All was first class. Would love to go back for a longer period when next we visit Sydney. Will need to start saving for this occasion. Looking forward to returning soon!. A little noisy at times from the buzz of the many restaurant users in the area, but nevertheless, a good vibe. I am really scratching here to write about the slow lifts ( waiting time rather), noise level due to constructions outside and some house-keeping/ maintenance. I have ignore all of them. Remember, Lobby is on level 10 :). I don't know what the cleaners did with it, but our toilet paper kept disappearing. Didn't appreciate the cleaners throwing receipts away which were left on the kitchen bench. Would be nice to have proper soap powder and softener for the washing machine. The need for three separate deposits at check in felt a little unnecessary. There wasn't much I didn't like. However, I think they should check their furniture etc as there were some minor damages (i.e. dents) on fridge and carpet could have been a little cleaner but we also enjoyed the staff. there was nothing to dislike. I prefer liquid soap in the bathroom for hand was and showers. The outdoor area where the pool and gym are could do with some outdoor furniture. It seemed a bit strict about visitors in the room however I assume this is because kids have noisy parties sometimes. The washing machine needed to be replaced, it took me 2hr to wash clothes and another 2hr for drying. And it's too noisy. I would like more flexibility in the fitness centre hours. Many other hotels that I've stayed at have longer access hours--and quite often with 24 hour access. Could not fault anything. Minor issue with wet carpet patch around the bathroom door as a result of bathroom leak but really not of any serious concern. Room felt a little smallish. Also, no bathtub, shower only. Wouldn't have minded a tv in the bedroom, but that's a small thing. Nothing. Everything was great - only there 2 nights, and no problem. The washer/dryer was incredibly complex to operate, despite following the instructions, and we left with a load of wet washing to dry at our next stop. Not having a restaurant on site and having to order in from a local establishment was a little inconvenient, more so as the Restaurant concerned seemed annoyed they were being asked to deliver a meal even though their menu was in the Meriton Guide in our room. (I guess they were having a busy night.). The shared foyer between the apartments! I woke with a fright when the person in the neighbouring apartment returned in the wee hours of the night. The noise and banging sounded as though someone was entering the apartment in which I was staying . Some of the concierge's weren't very friendly although they did their jobs efficiently. The bathroom. Very pokey, not in line with the rest of the apartment. Shower had a very poor water flow - and that went out at all angles so that water flowed out through the door side and over the floor. Air extractor didn't work, so steamed up the room and mirror. DID inform a staff member who took down details to pass to the maintenance crew. The sounds of sirens from the streets below that we heard off and on all night. Nothing!!!. Couldn't get the room cooler than 20C. Why do guests have to go through 2 doors to get into their room? It's difficult to get several pieces of luggage through 2 doors. It was noisy at night even with the balcony door closed but it's not a major problem. The only downside was waiting for the lifts but other than that there was no dislikes.. No issues at all. There was nothing we didn't like!.
