My mom and I went to Cairns for a week holiday. We hoped to find a buget hotel during our stay. We found and booked this hostel through letsbookhotel.com for the first two nights, and decided that if it was not suitable we will change to another one. However, after arrival, we found it was really a lovely hotel. We lived in Room 71, and it was rea... what people say » lly nice one. Then we decided to continue to stay in this hotel for the rest of our journey in Cairns. Finally, we totally stayed seven nights there. - Fantastic hostel, spotlessly clean, all staff incredibly friendly and full of great advice - also great pool, kitchen, free WiFi in reception (hard to find in Cairns) lovely spot at end of esplanade, pleasant 5-10 min walk along esplanade to city and free dinner at backpacker pub! The restaurant was very well priced (eating out is always expensive in Oz) and the food was very good. - The service from Peter the manager was excellent. When we arrived there, my girlfriend was ill, he made a couple of phonecalls to doctors free of charge. When we got back at the hostel, he saw that my girlfriend was still not feeling better, so he upgraded our double room to a better room away from all the noise from the reception. Thanks a lot for this excellent service Peter and the rest of the staff!
