The first time I stayed at Abbey apartments I booked a superior room but it was absolutely disgusting. Shocking! So this time I asked to make sure I really had a superior room as each time I paid extra for it. This time my room was lovely. Great value for money. Lovely furnishings, dishwasher, dryer,and washing machine. I appreciated that the improved things for me this time. I liked that the heating and cooling was so easy to control and fab location.

Only 4 beds per dorm room and as not peak season the lodge spread us out so we had rooms to ourselves. The staff are excellent, chap I talked to used to run a 5 star hotel but now just works part time. Has kept his customer service level though. Handy tablets to borrow at no cost if you need to use internet. Good facilities easy 10 min walk into Port Douglas
