My husband and myself loved everything about our stay at The Lodge, Mudgee. The comfortable bed,the well positioned flat screen T.V, and the cleaniness of the room and also the hot running water from the shower,all made our stay very enjoyable.The Lodge was only a short drive into town,which was excellent. We would highly recommend The Lodge to anyone,who wants a clean and comfortable place to stay for the night.
all reviews » We were in a newly refurbished room, well appointed and equipped with electric jug and toaster, a practical table and two chairs that meant self catering for breakfast was very easy. En suite was small but quite adequate. Staff were very friendly. Free wifi was available. We enjoyed our three nights there. Friendly and helpful, even to the point of allowing us to wash the car in preparation for taking our Granddaughter to her Deb Ball, (we had travelled from Melbourne)She lives out on a farm, mind you they allowed us the same when we stayed 4 years ago for our elder Granddaughter. Love the refurbishment. The linen was fresh and crisp and clean and it was a nice surprise to see flat screen TV's in the room. Although we arrived earlier than expected and our room wasn't yet ready, they offered us another room so we could unpack and settle in. That was a lovely touch which we appreciated. The staff were very friendly and helpful - a pleasure to deal with! The location is right on the edge of town which was great. A fairly quiet spot. The room was clean and comfortable. I've paid a lot more for less! Can't ask for more than that. We arrived in time to have a walk around the centre of Mudgee. It is a lovely large country town with attractive buildings of 80 to 100 years, kept in good condition. Staff were friendly, rooms very clean. Although on the highway, the motel was quiet. Room was thermally efficient - it was cold at night outside, but comfy inside. We loved the country style breakfast, which was hot, unlike some so called 4 star hotels which provide a buffet breakfast which always tends to be cold. I liked the decor of the room and thought it was good value for money, location was good. It was clean and had hot water and a bed.A restaurant was available. The staff where very friendly and obliging to my requests. Quietness, clean. Nice and clean. There wasn't anything that we didn't like,everything was just perfect. A minor problem was the squeaky bathroom door which I anticipate would have been seen to by maintenance. We had initial concerns that there could be some road noise but did not notice any and both enjoyed a comfortable, good night's sleep. We liked everything. We did not have time to stay longer and look around further - one night stay then on to attend a conference. Nothing really. The Lodge is a 3 star, reasonably cheap motel, and it gave us everything we were looking for. We'd stay there again. - The hot water in the shower was unreliable, but minor issue in overall scheme of things. the Parking was not great for some types of cars,. provided a toaster but no knife or bread & butter plate. coffee was instant only i woukld have liked a choice of instant or paying for a real coffee. Not enough choice on Austar. TV too small. poor WI-FI connectivity. Nothing at all. room are a bit small,but with a refrubishment could be improved. The flys - but fly spray was available. toaster supplied, but no knife or plate. No water pressure. Grease stained hand towel and only one face washer for 2 guests. First appearances, which grw on us after getting into the room. The service level. Having to ask re internet, having to go back to get a menu for dinner,not being given this information. That there is no micro wave in the room. The place was tired and a bit out of town. I thought for what it was it was overpriced in comparison to other places We have stayed. There was no menu for dinner for kids The meal was nice from restaurant but steak burnt and salt and pepper calarmari was just not nice and salad felt like leftovers There was hair on wall of bathroom and a pillow was dirty. Mattress needed replacing to soft, fell into a hole in the middle all night. Air con kicking in and out all night. No view, no atmosphere.
