First and foremost the wonderful friendly staff. The standard of breakfast was exceptional with so many delicious options to choose from. The bedrooms are quite small but have a really luxurious feel to them. The bed with it's fine linens and big plump pillows made for a very comfortable nights sleep. We also liked the nespresso machine and instant hot water for making tea, with a good selection of each. All in all a lovely boutique hotel experience.

The roof top bar is the best special feature is the honesty tab at the bar.Just like staying with friends. My experience at Spicers Balfour was outstanding! The friendly staff made you feel at home and the amazing chefs made you feel like you stepped into a 5 star restaurant. The atmosphere is cozy yet elegant. I will stay there every time I return to Brisbane. I Loved the personalistion of the hotel,if felt like being in your own home! Spicers balfour hotel have an honour system with the bar,which I loved,being able to pour your own drinks was wonderful. Also the food was exquisite!. Loved everything about it and the decor/furnishings are gorgeous. Highlight was breakfast as our rate included hot dish - it really was excellent. Would definitely stay here again. The staff were welcoming, courteous and friendly. No request was considered too hard. Facilities were great, food delicious and the atmosphere was relaxing. The honour system bar and it's views, the free canapes with drinks, the fantastic breakfasts, the excellent location and the very friendly staff. I booked a room with a private balcony,which wasn't private at all,in fact you were right next to people dining in the restaurant. We had Room 8 which was a little noisy being close to entry but not enough to stop us sleeping. There didn't appear to be enough staff for the Sunday brunch for both the hotel guests and outside reservations. The friendly staff did the best they could but were too rushed to give you their full attention in comparison to when my husband and I first arrived. Maybe more staff need to be working during peak times of business to continue the high standard of customer service which is expected at a boutique hotel. Nothing. The location is not great and the rooms are very small. The room we were in was also very noisy and we were woken quite early in the morning with the noise of the kitchen and general comings and goings. Nothing!. No fridge in room. Difficulty in finding reception. The only negative is the limited parking.. That we had to leave. Nothing. Nothing.
