The staff were excellent especially the Manager who went out of his way to ensure a meal for us when arriving late on Friday night. Rob the owner was very welcoming. Excellent breakfast. Clean room in a great quiet location for UEA. You can walk there in 25 minutes and 5 minutes by car. Plenty of free parking. -

Mark & Jacqui (managers) are very friendly and go out of their way to ensure that you enjoy your holiday - nothing is too much trouble for them.
Wi-Fi access is very good - the brochure states it is available in public rooms but we could access it in the bedrooms which were well appointed.

Fantastic hotel ! a wonderful reception from Jacqui and Mark upon
arrival, we were greeted and shown to our room The sea view suite was
spotless, comfortable and very tastefully decorated. We felt right at
home and the view was as promised of the sea ! a great treat for us land
locked folk. Breakfast was splendid both days, I recommend the full
english (with proper bacon) however Mark also makes the tastiest
scrambled eggs and smoked salmon my sister has ever had !
All in all a fantastic stay,

My Husband & I stayed at Ashdene house for two nights over spring bank holiday. The proprietors Annette & Gill are so friendly & very welcoming we had tea & cake on arrival nothing was to much trouble for them. tBreakfast was lovely everything you wanted home made bread & jams & full English.everywhere was spotlessly clean

Gill and Annette made you feel at home as soon as you met them, we were welcomed with a cuppa on arrival, nothing was too much trouble for them. We enjoyed our stay so much that we stayed an extra 2 nights. The breakfast set you up for the day and the home made bread was lovely. We highly recommend Ashdene House and we will be back if we are in this area again.

I didn't realise when booking, but the lady who runs the place is
lovely and was happy to help. No specific checkout time which is great!
And they make you breakfast for the time of your choosing as well.

Really was a great place to stay. -
Such a lovely place to stay, the staff are very accommodating and the
bar is great to have a couple of drinks or a game of pool. The view from
the beer garden is amazing and feels like you're miles from the
city. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting a quiet place to stay
within walking distance to the city center.

Upon arrival the greeting was very friendly and welcoming, offering good places to see and eat in the local area. The room was exactly as expected and we had a good nights sleep. We really enjoyed our stay, the bar was really busy so I was a bit worried the rooms would be noisy. When we were shown to our rooms they were lovely, clean and spacious. You could not hear the bar at all. All the staff were lovely and very friendly. The beds were very comfortable, I suffer with chronic back pain so a comfy bed is the first thing

Breakfast was very decent with quality local produce used (in the lovely courtyard restaurant).
Room was very comfortable and peaceful; considering on quite a busy street and with pub downstairs.
9 month old boy slept perfectly in nice clean cot- helped by the excellent blinds behind the curtains blocking out any light.
Staff friendly and polite without being OTT.
I may just return myself for a pint when next out that way on cycling jaunt.

We liked everything about this guesthouse from its location and the no-
nonsense welcome and clear instructions of the owner, to the generous
room size and comfortable bed. Nearby we found a great place to eat
called Last Wine Bar & Restaurant and in the morning back at Number
17 were served perfect Full English and kippers for our breakfasts.

This is probably the best pub in East Anglia. Brilliant atmosphere,
fantastic food, intelligent, helpful staff and sensible prices. Oh --

I booked the King Room on the first floor (stairs: this is a pub after

You are a credit to the city of Norwich - It is impressively well-run, and the staff have thought of lots oflittle details that make it much better than the ordinary: I was stayingjust for one night, so had booked myself a little room in the lowestcategory that had a bathroom on the opposite side of the corridor. In myroom a freshly-laundered dressing gown was provided, which is just whatyou want to cross the corridor for a shower!
