Lovely venue to stay, right in the centre of town opposite the old post office, a national trust property well worth a visit. The rooms were adequate but spotlessly clean, beds were very comfortable, bed linen, towells very good quality white and clean. Breakfast was served in the bar area, quality and presentation good. 3 bedroom flat adjacent to pub meant plenty of room for our family, plus it was quiet since it wasn't directly above the pub. Beds were large and comfortable, plenty of pillows. Breakfast was included and it was fab. We had dinner at the pub as well and it was excellent. Staff was helpful and friendly. We decided we wanted to stay an extra night and they worked out a spot for us!

The breakfast on offer was excellent, well laid out and a delightful dining area. Service excellent too. It was a very quiet hotel.

We were going on holiday to St Ives and decided to travel on the Friday night with an overnight stop nearby, instead of Saturday morning to beat the traffic jams. Arrived here to friendly reception at about 11.30pm with drinks brought to room. Rooms were smart, breakfast enjoyable, dining area had outside terrace with views and location was absolutely perfect for our travel plans. Would recommend to anyone doing what we did.

The location of the hotel although being outside the main centre of newquay was ideal as Tolcarne beach was on the doorstep.
On arrival we were allocated room 9 which is probably the pick of all the rooms due to the lovely balcony overlooking Tolcarne Beach.
The hotel is spotless, as are the rooms with soft clean white towels and comfy beds.

I was very impressed with the Staff, from the time I arrived we were made very welcome from Eilleen, Micheal, then Joseph was excellant, nothing was a problem, basically all then staff where professional and are a credit to the Hotel. I will be coming back next year with my family and will be letting friends and family know how good our stay was, thank you

Barbara and Stephen were perfect hosts. Barbara shared her wealth of knowledge about this part of Cornwall. The smugglers has 3 rooms all of which are named after local artists they all have separate entrances and are very clean and comfortable the owners of the restaurant were really friendly and helpful food in the restaurant was excellent we would not hesitate to recommend this to anyone looking. stay. From the moment we entered the hotel they treated us like very

The staff were exceptionally helpful - nothing was too much trouble. I also liked the fact that there was secure parking right next to the hotel - great value for central parking in Truro. - friendly staff, lovely room with free upgrade, great dinner and breakfast

Made to feel very special by our hosts and their family. Beautiful location and fabulous food. Easy access to both north and south coasts, plenty of parking and rooms very comfortable. Value for money, will return one day.
