Glencairn was within walking distance to the bus stop, if you have a map and are physically active. It was not a marathon but was about .4 of a mile. The room was very comfortable. This was during the summer of 2013 "heat wave" and Shirley provided a fan for our comfort. She was the only person to do this during our 3 weeks of travel. Dumfries is a quaint, picturesque town and I wish we could have stayed longer. The hosts were very helpful with our rental car reservation and logistics of gettin. όλα τα σχόλια »
The warmth and friendliness conveyed by the owners, Shirley and Laurence & the fact that they are both "hands on" in the b & b, their willingness to make conversation with you in general & on local areas of interest & simply making you feel welcome, nothing was to much bother to them also very friendly staff & not forgetting a great breakfast.
5 minutes walking to the town centre.
I was there for an Ice Hockey Tournament and the staff were very friendly and hospitable. Nothing was a problem to them. I had to leave the hotel before before breakfast on Sunday but the Staff said that I coould help myself to cereal, which I thought was very nice of them. I have already recommended it to other Ice Hockey players, and family and friends.
Our first overnight stay whilst travelling to the Scottish Highland's.
An excellent choice / location with parking and a short stroll into town for shopping and evening meal.
Shirley our host made my wife and myself most welcome. Lawrence, Shirley's husband prepared an excellent Scottish breakfast to see us through our travels further.
Very friendly hosts, everything's well-organzised, a rather wide range of choice for breakfast. located in a quiet corner of the small town, exactly between town centre and the railway station (both 5 minutes walk, probably closer to the rail station and due to our heavy luggages, it was truly a good thing).
Incredibly friendly hosts and very flexible, we needed a 12.30 check in and the hosts were able to facilitate our needs. Very clean and tidy, comfortable and a breakfast that will be hard to beat anywhere.
I would recommend this B&B to anyone and we will definitely return in future. 10/10.
Shirley was a very friendly hostess. Our room and bath were comfortable. Breakfast was very good. You could select your menu and time the night before. We had off-street parking. A good restaurant was just a short walk.
Friendly, cooperative staff, always ready to give advice on local matters and who made everyone in our group feel most welcome.
