I liked the friendly staff, natural setting, down-to-earth feel, and the price was a huge draw. The Motel rooms are comfortable and clean. The Motel is in a great location, close to town, but not too close to town. The Motel’s restaurant Nippers Café served great food. We enjoyed our stay at the Stamford Motel and viewing the beautiful Vermont fall foliage.

  While at first glance this place looked dated; it was completely upto date with internet access, flat screen tv's, frig, microwave, coffee in the room & above all this was one of the cleanest most well maintained places we have stayed.   We had just come from two "luxury" nights at the Woodstock Inn (a gift). Our room at the Toll Road was bigger, better furnished, more room amenities, fantastic view of woods, stream, and animals in pasture. Great basic breakfast (free), located near Manchester but not in the middle of it (quiet at night, no traffic/people noise). He spent the entire trip going to the river at the back of the hotel to the pool. It was delightful. The grounds are lovely. The place, although old, is exceptionally clean and cared for. It's close to town and if you don't want to go to town there are several restaurants within walking distance. I loved our stay and would go back in a second.
