  My 83 year old mother and I were in Banff for my cousin's wedding at the Fairmont Hotel. We could not afford to stay at the Fairmont (even with a discounted room at $250 a night) and the y Mountain Lodge proved to be an excellent, economical choice for us.   Really can't beat the bang for your buck . Really nice room and very comfortable beds. There is a breakfast buffet at the ptarmigan hotel where you check in to the driftwood and for $14 , gst and tip included, you eat like a king and have bottomless juice and coffee.
