Upon checking in at the inn, the host Gibbs promptly asked if we had been to St. Augustine before. We replied that we hadn't recently been and he proceeded to give us a map and explain where we were in relation to major sights and attractions. He also offered to give restaurant recommendations or even book our dinner reservation for us if we wanted. He was nothing but friendly and helpful - he even gave us his personal cell phone number and told us to call him if we needed anything at all wheth.
所有评语 » Visiting from the uk and staying in St Augustine for the first time, we booked 2 rooms for four of us based upon reviews for this 6 bedroom Inn. We were not disappointed. We arrived four hours early for check in but just wanted to drop by, get our bearings etc. Gibbs met us on arrival, our rooms were being serviced but he was really helpful with any information we needed. Even getting the trolley tour bus to people to pick us up personally if we wanted! We were able to leave our car at Saragoss. The B&B was situated not far from the tourist district of St Augustine. It was about a ten minute walk to the Main Street and not much longer to other tourist attractions. It means you can leave your car parked there and explore on foot. The rooms are quirky and themed. We had hysterics on the first night trying to get into the four poster bed. A stool is provided on each side to enable you to climb up. One of the main things about Saragossa Inn is the brunch which is served at either 9.30. Saragossa has a chef prepare your breakfast/brunch. It was some of the best food I've put in my mouth! His staff is exceptional (extremely helpful, friendly and make you feel so at home).My cousin and I wanted to relax and just "go with the flow" and we couldn't have chosen a better place to stay. All rooms are furnished with gorgeous antiques, but include the modern "must haves" of cable T.V., modern bath etc. We can't wait to go back!. The Saragossa Inn was as beautiful as pictured. Located by just walking a few minutes to historic downtown St. Augustine, it lives up to an authentic bed and breakfast. The staff was extremely curtious and attentive. The brunches by Gibbs were unexpected and delicious. My wife and I plan on making this Inn a twice a year stay. It's the perfect place to stay if your the bed and breakfast type. And the pricing was more than fair. Gibbs was a very attentive Innkeeper. The perfect host. Michelle and Sherry couldn't have been more welcoming. They made us feel like we were the most important guests everyday! By the end of our stay we felt like we were old friends! Their recommendations for dining and activities were perfect. We would recommend this to anyone looking for a home away from home with top notch service that makes you feel like a King or Queen. Our room was beautiful, comfortable and had excellent attention to detail. The Inn location was perfect... on a quiet street but still within a short walk to Old Town shops and festivities. The Innkeeper and staff were amazing...very warm and accommodating. This was our 2nd visit to Saragossa Inn and we can't wait to return. The staff members were wonderful! The breakfast was abundant & delicious. Gibbs was most generous when we arrived early and gave us excellent advice on what to see and where to eat. The mattress was wonderfully comfortable. The Inn was a very short walk to an abundance of things to see and do and many places to eat!. The staff was very attentive and sought opportunities to go above & beyond. Gib and his staff had wonderful customer service. I can remember being asked by Gib if we were in need of anything from them. He asked this every time, this is very unusual and spoke to the level of guest comfort they provide. Well done!. Breakfast was wonderful. They served us a 3 course meal with chargers did decent plants for each course linen table cloths and napkins. Coffee and hot tea were served in tea pots. It was a very beautiful breakfast. The inn keeper knew the area very well and made many recommendations. It was a wonderful time for us!. Looks like this hotel is owned and run by a family. We were welcomed by an old gentlemen who described us all attractions very briefly and consistently. Location is very close to historic center of St.A. We really appriciate the design of the house in general as well as interiour of the room and breakfast room. The breakfasts were wonderful. Gibbs is a doll! And he knew everything. Had wonderful stories to tell. The inn is right in the middle of a neighborhood within walking distance of just about everything we wanted to see and do. The shrine of la Virgin de la Leche was especially beautiful and meaningful. The owner is an experienced chef, so breakfast is three coarses of yumminess. The rooms are even more luxurious than the pictures. The staff educates you on the city as far as where to go, where to eat and more importantly where not to eat. I can't say enough good things about this place!. Great location; we were able to park the car and walk everywhere. Nice residential neighborhood; felt safe. The Innkeeper "Gibbs" was friendly, accommodating, and an excellent chef (over 30 years experience) so the brunches were to die for!. The very friendly and helpful staff, superb location in the beautiful historic district, the brilliant and very close by town and the best sea food restaurant in the state (The Floridian....see for yourselves!) about 5 mins walk away!!. Absolutely everything..the rooms are charming and the entire staff is so accomodating and friendly. But the best is the unbelivable 3-course breakfast that Gibbs the owner and chef prepared each morning..so wonderful. Enjoyed the staff. The breakfast was good, different, and pleasant. Liked the location, near walking distance to all shopping and most sites. Liked the fact it was well lighted on the outside at night,. Convenient to both the historic area and to us 1. Absolutely nothing. Nothing we did not like. There was nothing you could not like. The house being a period house meant things were not perfect but that added to the charm . Not one complaint. The actual bed in the room was a little to soft for us. But could be perfect for others. Absolutely nothing. I am not complaining mind you...we got a great deal and much more than our moneys worth, but if booking again I would choose a suite other than the Palm Breeze, as it was underneath an upstairs area, which made sleeping late difficult. Small size of restroom. Paying the bill was confusing. I thought I had already paid it with my credit card, but Gibbs had no information about that, and we paid him with my husband's credit card. I don't know if I paid you, and you didn't pay him, or we just paid the booking fee or what. I'll have to check my records. I wanted this to be done by the time we got there, as I booked last spring, and this was an anniversary present for my husband which he wound up paying for... The only negative for us, and it was minor, was the size of the bathroom but it was doable for a 2-night stay. The breakfasts although cracking quality were a little odd and heavy to our taste i.e. chilled banana and strawberry soup to start, sausage, spinach and egg quiche with kiwi fruit and salad main and a kind of Christmas pud for sweet.....however we would go back!!. What's not to like..nothing at all. I think it needed a bit of updating, on the inside. First seating for breakfast was at 9:30; second seating was at 10:30--a little late for us. 21 steps up to the reception and the breakfast room. Not a problem for us but it could be for others. Room was very nice, clean but shower was hard to control the temperature hot or cold. Breakfast is served a little late for us 9.30 am was the first breakfast, The coffee was not very good but I don't think Floridians care about their coffee. Had to leave to go home. Nothing to dislike. Nothing. nothing. The room was quite small. Pleased with our experience. No complaints. The shower was a bit difficult, very small and not strong stream of water. Verky cozy room, but quite small. Nothing. Nothing. I would have liked an earlier breakfast option. Breakfast was included, a 3-course brunch menu. We loved it but would not be to all tastes. The food choice was set with no options. Wouldn't suit young kids. That we couldn't stay another night!. while the gourmet food was exactly that, and well prepared, I'm more of a simple breakfast person so it seemed a bit heavy. The shower and water pressure could be better but thats minor. Just could have had a mirror in the outer room and few more electric outlets available. Nothing.
