  Excellent staff that seemed to be genuinely interested in making my stay as pleasant as possible. Although still going through a renovation phase, the Lancaster is a well appointed historic hotel with excellent access to Houston's theatre district and good quality restaurants.   I was highly impressed with the Days Inn and Suites. When I walked into my room, I could not believe all the amenities such as an iron, microwave, and refrigerator. The young lady Karen?, was extremely kind and was on duty both nights I stayed. She was also an excellent shuttle driver.

  Being close to the DFW airport and having a free 24 hour shuttle was my reason for choosing the hotel, and the staff made it feel like visiting family between flights separated by a day. The shuttle driver was prompt and gave me a bottle of cold water and then the front desk clerk handed me a warm chocolate chip cookie as I registered. Perhaps this was an off night but when we complained the bartender just shrugged his shoulders. Management made no effort to remedy the issue so my overall opinion of this hotel will be greatly diminished. I think when you bring it to the attention of management they should at least respond.
