I live in Beaumont TX only a couple of hours away. Been to Galveston too many times to count and have stay - The Galvez Hotel is a beautiful old hotel that has been magnificently restored and kept up to date. It is right on the seawall and beach and has a rich and interesting history. I like that this is prominently displayed and guests are made aware of its history. We especially enjoyed the older gentlemen curator in the lower level where a lot of pictures and artifacts are displayed. This gentlemen should be specially acknowledged as he brought the history and stories to life.
