  Stayed on 1st Fl Rm 105. Hotels location was a plus being so near Thames Street & waterfront. The underground garage was great since our car was secure while we walked all over Newport. Housekeeping inquired every night whether any thing was needed prior to morning. The bare brick walls were a nice decor/touch. Lots of nice little touches....soft robes, fluffy pillows, good-nite note w/ gummy bears instead of chocolates :-)! Would definitely stay here again!

  Our hostess was very informative about Newport's history and it's surrounding area . She made us very welcome . She explained that the hot entree at breakfast was just one choice which changed daily but was happy to make us something else if we didn't like it . We needn't have worried . When we checked out I told her I suspected it would be the best breakfa - This Inn was a jewel in our east coast journey. It was also the most expensive night for us, but in Newport, you have to expect a higher price. We were happy that we could park the car in their lot, and walked where we wanted to until we checked out the next day. We did the Cliff walk early in the morning, the best time in the heat of the summer. This Inn is truly a treasure!

The towels and bed linens were crisp and fresh. - Due to some mis-hap, the hotel didn't have our booking. However, they were able to accommodate us and one of our rooms was better than we had originally booked, at no extra cost, so - result! Only stayed one night so don't feel we got the full benefit of the hotel, however the staff were very pleasant and helpful, particularly in relation to the missing booking.

  It had everything that we needed. The staff were especially helpful and informed us that the shuttle would take us to a restaurant for lunch. Since we were really tired of driving by this time and didn't want to try and find a good restaurant, this was greatly appreciated. You can walk everywhere except to the mansions and then the Visitors Center is only a block away and you can get a bus to take you to the mansions. Our car never left the parking lot.
