  It's was daughters 7th birthday. The staff went above and beyond. Recognized her at breakfast the following day and took it upon themselves to sing her happy birthday even remembering her name. Upon check out they had a hand written card with a small gift (winter hat) thanking her for spending her birthday at The Whiteface Lodge .   Real nice stay. Close enough to Saratoga racecourse without getting beat up on the room rates. Absolutely top class steakhouse on site which was pricey but definely worth the buck (as good if not better than any nyc. Steakhouse I've eaten in. Proximity to the highway a plus. Hotel is perfectly located right on the lake and a close walk to everything in town.

  Our fourth- floor balcony room had a wonderful view of Mirror Lake and the mountains. It was conveniently situated on the main street in the town of Lake Placid, which had nightly live music in the lakefront park. There were numerous restaurants and shops. The location is ideal, in the lively city center but right on the lake, featuring a private beach provided with chairs, canoe, paddle boats, toys for the kids, etc.; the staff is professional and attentive, the people in charge of the room cleaning very efficient; our room was quiet and comfortable; the pool and the whirlpools are a nice "plus".
