While there is work being done to improve the exterior, this is only a minor inconvenience. The staff, contrary to some of the reviews, were extremely pleasant and helpful and the quality of the finishings of the hotel very pleasing. I had requested a small single room but was given a standard room on the 19th floor which very tastefully furnished.

  The complimentary shuttle service from the hotel to Cornell was greatly appreciated, as was the free continental breakfasts (waffle-machine was a bonus!). Room and bathroom was clean and big, and generally warm enough without use of the heater (even in mid-winter).   Great location. Beside subway station and just a 5min ride into Manhattan. So handy. Easy to find if travelling from jfk. Area was safe but not a lot to see around the hotel.
