  We love Lake George and especially the Fort Wiliam Henry Resort...stayed with our kids 25+years ago several times and then again this summer with my brother and his wife...they loved it.   Very nice place just outside (2 miles) the craziness of the village. We wanted 'quiet' but close enough to enjoy the downtown area. We drove into town but the trolley is available just outside the Colonel Williams. The owners/staff are very attentive and the grounds/rooms are well cared for.   Staff was excellent. Property was very well kept. Rooms were well appointed and the bathroom was lovely and had lots of counter space. The room was spotlessly clean. Reasonably priced.   Only stayed for one night.however person at front desk could not have been more pleasant, friendly (9:00pm) and accommodating Breakfast in am was great and the service was as above. First time stay but won't be the last. Next time I will bring my son and daughter (12 and 14) to enjoy the emenities. Room very spacious and simple. The room was a very nice size for just 2 people, we stayed in a single king size room. The general manager, who we dealt with while we were there, was very friendly and accommodating. The shuttle that would bring you to the village and back was a nice perk and allowed you to stay away from the noise but still experience it as you wanted.

  I really enjoyed everything about the resort. It was very clean which is what I look for most. It had a beautiful view of the lake, a private beach, patio, playground, boat rentals and pool.
