A wonderful historical hotel with a beautiful foyer and great staff. The bed was comfortable and the old fashion "pink" sink and bathtub were a real charm. I'm glad that Plains decided to retain the historical aspects of the hotel, while still upgrading it for safety and convenience. The History of the Hotel and all it's unique little touches. And its tasty restaurant. There is also a Classic old-style cinema across the road,with modern surround sound ! ( adults only $2.50 or $3.50 !!).
所有评语 » Loved the historic feel of the hotel. Even the small elevator had its charm. The restaurant was very good, and the staff friendly. Room was clean. Everything ....... starting with the staff. Location is great. The history of the hotel is well worth any very MINOR modern inconvenience. The decorations and the kind service. Especially loved the old hand written letters framed in the lobby . So much history was very cool. The fact that the hotel has not been spoiled - it still has the old features and it is a great place to stay. It is a bit of history!. It's not a castle, but it is historic. It has been updated while maintaining its history. I will come back!. The elevator is small, so while the luggage cart, my husband and mom & dad took the elevator, I took the steps - but that was really a good thing that I needed so I shouldn't complain. The Curtains in the rooms are 8ft long but only 1 ft wide. Window is 4ft wide and deep !! So like it or not, the sun will come into your room early am !. Room was oddly shaped and small, making it hard to get around, however not unexpected. Shower took forever to get hot. Need for Valet parking, BUT, it was handled quickly and very friendly. it's only drawback is if you forgot something in the car. Not so easy to "run and get it". This would NEVER prevent us from staying again. Carpet seemed a bit dirty and sink we not in restroom. The staff could not find my reservation. They also cold not find another one for the guest at the next window that also booked thru bookings.com. They accepted my e-mail confirmation. They told me that bookings.com faxed in conformations and that it can "take a while". Rooms were tired and noisy - tv did not work, toilet flapper valve had to be manually adjusted to prevent constant flow. no parking without walking. All good, no complaints. Rooms were basic, but more than acceptable for the price. The long walk at midnight to get to the hotel parking was terrible. Hard to find ice machines. Old and put dated fixtures with purple tub and sink. Small room. Lack of outlets. No hotel map. Not too tech friendly. Elevator tiny and slow since historic. Elevator. The bathroom needs some updates. There were no outlets and the sink was not functioning properly. Front desk didn't tell me the wifi password, after I went down and got it, never did get it to work. Also, Front Desk didn't give me the voucher for breakfast. Had to ask for it and they acted like I putting them out. No apology. Room was not ready until after 4pm, parking was on street or their lot was 2 blocks away, air conditioner in room had missing air vents, air blew over the head of the bed and could not be redirected, had to turn it off to be able to sleep, tv reception was poor. There was a round table for eating or desk work, but no chair was supplied. Food service poor, food poor also. Hotel did not receive our reservation from you. Luckily we got rooms but not what we had reserved. I slept on clean towels because sheets and pillows were covered in stains. Also I had let them know in advance that I would be a late arrival in advance, and they still gave my room away.
