Great location within walking distance of both Windemere and Bowness. Helen, Phillippa and Trevor all pleasant and helpful. They even took us through the kitchen at breakfast time to see the Deer in the woods at the rear of the property. Our room was beautiful and peaceful and looked onto the wood and stream at the rear of the property. I would stay here again and recommend it to anyone. Able to use spa/gym facilities at nearby hotel. All in all excellent place to stay.
所有评语 » the hostress, Phillipa (hope I didn't wrongly spell her name) was very kind. She welcomed us with delicious tea and cookies, and provided us some milk and cereal when she heard we had to catch up an early train and would miss the breakfast - hmm, the breakfast was quite good here. The room was clean and cozy, enough space and we even saw a deer outside the window. Overall it was really nice stay, I could understand why this guesthouse could get such a high rating. The Staff were wonderful, we had to cut our stay very short due to an emergency at home, and they dealt with it in a very professionally, and didn't make us feel a nuisance in any way. We are planning to return as soon as possible, it is a lovely guest house, breakfasts were fantastic, and everyone was helpful and friendly. Location is great, half way between Bowness and Windermere. We chose this guest house after reading the reviews on trip adviser. on arrival we were greeted with tea and shortbread, given tips of the area and taken to our room, we could not of wished for a nicer room ,breakfast was perfect and served by friendly people. Perfectly situated , you can walk to the lake and shops. We will return if visiting the area again. The friendly helpful staff and warm welcome by Phillipa Trevor and Kate. The little touches that made all the difference. Bathroom under floor heating, heated towel rail, music speakers in bathroom, iPod dock, wine fridge, room size and luxury decor, delicious breakfasts and teapots that didn't dribble. Comfy bed room 11. Will definitely stay again. The Hawksmoor was well appointed and clean. The staff were helpful and courteous and the room, which was one of the smaller ones, was lovely and plenty big enough for our requirements. The guest house itself is on the road between Windermere and Bowness, both within easy walking distance. Would both recommend and stay there again. Absolutely Fabulous! The only issue might be the location for those who are traveling by train and with heavy suitcases/backpacks - it was kind of just the middle in between Windermere & Bowness, taking 15-20 minutes walk to either town and no any bus-stop nearby - ok maybe that's indeed the problem of the public transportation setting. Still we enjoyed the stay very much here. Nothing. Our stay was faultless!. Absolutely nothing!. Leaving. The use of traditional key to lock/unlock the door of room 8 is a bit hindered by the thick door frame. Nothing. Nothing, it was all great. Couldn't fault a thing!. Not a lot.
