The Penally Abbey has a distinct charm and ellegance that is not always to translate into words. However from the moment we arrived to the moment we left we were treated to very personal hospitality, which you don;t find in budget hotels. This is what you pay for and it is the reason for the difference. The room we stayed in head great views down to the beach and Tenby. the room was clean and decorated in keeping with the age and style of the building, so if you want modern this is not i.
所有评语 » We really loved the location of the hotel. Lovely welcome by the staff most welcoming and friendly. Our room was lovely and spacious, with lot's of character. The meals are excellent especially the evening meal. Compliments to the chief. Would recommend this hotel to friends and family. Would stay again. Wonderful! Thank you, just wished we had stayed longer. The hotel has been planned with EVERY need forseen. The bedroom was wonderful with a fabulous view and a decanter of sherry which you could help yourself from to relax. Clean towels every day and a superb menu. It was so good we are planning our next visit already. the friendliness; the relaxed atmosphere; the beautifully well-cooked food; the lovely choice of breakfast items and the lovely room in the 'coach house' and the very nice settee to sit on and face the scenery - when the door was open!. The staff were extremely friendly and very helpful - nothing was too much trouble. The hotel was large enough to feel comfortable to come and go as you please, but small enough to give that all important personal touch. Everything a warm welcome, from the owner,excellent food, lovely hotel, good service, room excellent. Only hotel out of three where someone offered to help with our bags and showed us round, good location. We didn't like the consent heat. We could not turn the radiators down and being an old building the windows didn't open well. The pressure for the shower was very poor so not good having a shower in the morning. But you did have the other option of a bath which we didn't try. nothing. Nothing. An old lovely property always needs constant attention - gutters, painting etc. A shower curtain and door springs to stop doors banging in room 1 would be useful. We felt that the shower in our room was poor. You would get more pressure out of a watering can!. Very minor point that my wife found bathroom mirrror was a bit high. Nothing to dislike. nothing!. A bit expensive. Nothing. Can't think of anything. nothing we did not like. Nothing. Our room in the annexe on first floor could only be accessed via an outside staircase/fire escape. En-suite facilities were poor in particular the over bath shower which was surrounded by a shower curtain and was lacking in pressure. The garden was uncared for and full of weeds. The hotel was not really up to the standard one might expect of a 4 star Country House Hotel. A little more attention to detail could improve matters. We were so very disappointed with our room. Your booking E-mail stated "These rooms have large floor-to-ceiling windows and views across the golf course towards Caldey Island". The room that we were allocated, although spacious, had a partial view of the garden via a smallish window and bore absolutely no resemblance to the image in your E-mail. Decor is 'tired' and the room generally in need of some maintenance. Didn't stay long enough!.
