the bed is confortable, the staff is very nice. Nice and informal, very interesting building. Easy to find and good value. location, staff and room size. Pleasant situation, quiet though within easy reach of city, car parking close to accommodation. Comfortable room, friendly staff. Would certainly stay again. The location / hotel were beautiful, staff were very helpful and the room was very good for the price.

Peaceful location and helpfulness of staff. 1, The location was excerlent for were we need to get to, and the setting of the hotel was excelent. Quiet location and hotel with 'character'. the staff. The staff. shower was excellent,room full of those little extra bits and bobs needed when travelling like clothespress, hankies,hairdryer.Beautiful setting and grounds.Beautiful surroundings, pleasant staff, plenty of coffee and tea provided in rooms. Pleasant, warm and comfortable room. Price. excellent location and surrounds rooms was good very periodic. lovely old building, country setting. The room was on the ground floor....I had asked for a ground or first floor room....bing disabled I was very pleased!. The setting of the hotel in the country, yet close to the M42. Room clean and comfortable, price very competative. excellent value for money, good location, quiet surroundings. I is a very pretty hotel, rooms are comfortable. No-one there when I arrived (bit earlier than I had told them) and no answer to reception bell! Had to wait until manager arrived back from somewhere.towels too small,shower curtain too short and clung to person. Restaurant wasn't available for evening meal.Bar was empty and the beer was not good!. Its a bit out of the way. The room I had was very nice but had very creaky floors.bar was not open when stated. noise very early in morning. The bar and indeed the main hotel were shut down before 1020pm. There was no atmosphere probably due to the fact that there were very few people staying there. No preparations had been made for breakfast and there was no menu available. Boiled eggs were bizarrely served shelled on toast!. The room was cold and the bedding could have been more up to date ie a duvet. There appeared to be a shortage of staff but the ones we saw were all very helpful. Breakfast pricey, considering we had to make our own toast, tea/coffee etc. Your website said there was a choice of continental, full English or Buffet, whereas in fact there was only a small full English.mattress a bit lumpy. There was only one member of staff on duty - the manager I think. He did everything, book us in, serve drinks at the bar, wait tables in the restaurant as well as cover reception services. This meant we had to wait for him to finish doing something else before being served - at least one other person on duty would have helped!. Thin foam mattress and creaky floor, but neither kept me awake. No beer tap. Breakfast was too simple, just toast and tea.Lack of restaurant facility. Needs refurbished and checking at 11pm at bit restrictive when working at night.Beds are very bad ( change matresses) and the rooms are very old with noisy floors when walking, but then again it is an old building so... Very unprofessional front desk. - I asked to pay my bill on arrival, asI don't like wasting time in the morning. They were unable toaccommodate that. When I wanted to check out in the morning, I waited atthe desk for around 5 mins, ringing the bell intermittently. EventuallyI went to the kitchen and found someone to come to the desk and book meout - extremely annoying for someone on a tight. There was carpet in the bathroom. breakfast was not very fresh looking, no butter out for the toast (had to ask several times).The bed was very uncomfortable but that could be a personal thing. Very pleased with the hotel for the price we paid. Rooms in need of make over and updating.Not too easy to find your way around. Breakfast service was not good. Room was cold, fan did not go off in the bathroom, television was not properly tuned. The place felt shabby.The room we were given was not made up and we had to have a new room allocated. There was no Evening food available at this hotel and no cooked breakfast. I was offered a continental breakfast for £9.95 but declined as this is too expensive for continental option. As I am travelling on my own I would have not chosen a hotel with no food available and therefore it must not be obvious from the advertising for this hotle that it is not doing food.The bed was rock solid and really let the whole room down. A large part of the hotel stay is the bed and this should have been far superior. The hotel displayed on the pictures seems to have had a few years of decay since the photographs were taken! We were kept awake by people walking about in the room above and then awoken again in the early hours by people outside shouting. When ordering a drink at the bar we felt like an inconvenience to one of the night staff even though it was only 9.30pm.Not a lot. The room we stayed in looked neglected. The block our room was in had a 'no smoking sign' on the outside door, yet one could smell cigarette smoke all along the corridor. There is insufficient bedding, and insufficient heating in the room. The room was not properly cleaned while I was staying eg, bath not cleaned, bathroom floor still wet from the morning shower when I got in in the evening; the room was very cold.The toilet cistern, it constantly filled itself with water and overflowed ALL the time, wasting water and making a noise. Catering was abysmal. Dinner was a buffet that was inadequate and cold curry is not something I need after a 4 hour journey in atrocious weather. Worn and faded appearance in poor decorative condition. Facilities basic. The room was very 'mean'. No blinds or net curtains on a ground floor window so we had to keep the main curtains drawn and no bedside lamps! Smelly pillows, and the shower curtain started white at the top and though muddy browns until it turned orange at the bottom! With this display of cleanliness, needless to say we didn't risk the food!. The service in the restaurant was very slow. The staff were very young and inexperienced.
