  This was a perfect break. The staff are such a friendly team and really go out of their way to make guests feel welcomed. The views out over the fells make you feel relaxed in the first 5 minutes.   The room was quirky inasmuch that it was on two levels with a beautiful refurbished bathroom, a dressing table area and wardrobe, then up four stairs to the bedroom and sitting area. Nothing was lacking in facilities. THe restaurant and bar areas were always busy and popular with walkers and visitors to the area. I shall definitely stay at Wateredg - The Wateredge Inn is in a wonderful location right on the lake. The views out to the boats bobbing on the lake were lovely. The room was nicely decorated and comfortable as was the bathroom. The inns lounge and dining areas were very nice, with again a beautiful outlook. The two Scottish sisters who waited on us for breakfast were lovely and friendly as was Ryan the bar man. The countryside around Ambleside was really beautiful and well worth a longer visit.

  The guest house owner is nice and helpful. The house is clean, tidy and lovely. It's close to everything at Waterhead and only a mile from Ambleside, with good bus service to everywhere in the Lake District. It was more like staying in a hotel with the freedom of self catering, although you could dine in the hotel across the road if you wished.
