  We stayed in the new Silver Suite - it was extremely comfortable with a most beautiful view across the water. Needless to say, but the food was magnificently presented and absolutely delicious. The staff were exceptionally courteous and delightfully friendly. You felt you were staying with friends. We love Country Villages we would definitely stay again. - We wanted a real good value pub as a walking base for the weekend, we found one right in the middle of the lakes. From the moment we arrived the staff couldn't do enough for us - big thanks. The food was straightforward, good quality and great value. The beer was exceptional and again great value. We loved all the fires and so did our dogs. The rooms we ok, nothing special, but clean and comfortable. We will be returning again.

  Staff very friendly, location was excellent. Found the room very comfortable and clean. I wish I could have stayed longer. Best breakfast I have ever had - Lovely setting,staff helpful and friendly,food excellent and dog friendly. Lovely relaxing place to stay and only a 10 minute walk from Grasmere.

They even took us through the kitchen at breakfast time to see the Deer in the woods at the rear of the property. The room was clean and cozy, enough space and we even saw a deer outside the window. Overall it was really nice stay, I could understand why this guesthouse could get such a high rating.
