Having very limited knowledge, we checked the reviews against availability & took a change with the Wellington House. "How we love it when a plan comes together". We cannot speak highly enough of Karen & Richard & their home Wellington House. Every aspect of our stay was as we would have wished & more. Warm friendly hosts, nothing was to much trouble.   We really enjoyed our stay, the bar was really busy so I was a bit worried the rooms would be noisy. When we were shown to our rooms they were lovely, clean and spacious. You could not hear the bar at all. All the staff were lovely and very friendly. The beds were very comfortable, I suffer with chronic back pain so a comfy bed is the first thing ... 别人怎么说 » I look for. My little boy loved the fact the the beds were sleigh beds, just like "Santa". The food was also very good, we had a full English with lot - Breakfast was very decent with quality local produce used (in the lovely courtyard restaurant). Room was very comfortable and peaceful; considering on quite a busy street and with pub downstairs. 9 month old boy slept perfectly in nice clean cot- helped by the excellent blinds behind the curtains blocking out any light. Staff friendly and polite without being OTT. I may just return myself for a pint when next out that way on cycling jaunt. Cheers!

  Impressively sits on a bit of a hill with a Baronial look about it. Stayed in this hotel a couple of years ago and since the new owners have it they've spent a lot of money on it and spent it well. Was impressed with the room and bathroom fittings as well as the new bar area.
