I liked the fact that it was located so close to the city that I couldeasily walk to major tourist attractions. I also appreciated the use ofthe free car park. The Mercure Lodge Hotel, Cardiff is a great hotel based about 5 mins from the centre - An excellent base for a weekend in Cardiff. Would reccomend :o). First class hotel and room with all expected facilities including cableinternet. Staff were very friendly and helpful with transportinformation.

I was very impressed with this hotel, the room was spacious and clean and the location was excellent with easy access to Cardiff Bay and the city itself. Very luxurious room at a budget price. Very important to have on-site parking so near to city centre.The staff were excellent - first class. The room was very plush for the price - very pleased. Great location and cleanliness of the rooms.clean,modern and near to city centre. Comfortable Bed, excellent shower!. Everything but the breakfast. clean, efficient, good value. Very Clean Ideal Location. the rooms were lovely. Location. Reception staff - saw we were struggling with a double bass and gave us a ground floor room! Welcoming and efficient. Ample car parking which was important for us. Although quite late appearing for our breakfast, we were welcomed and staff were on hand to make sure that we had all we needed. Would choose this hotel again should we return.2 Queen sized beds in a twin room' also free car parking at the otel which was only 15 min. walk to city centre. The food in the hotel could of been better...extra pillows would be nice! hahha. When walking into town it is necessary to run across a very busy road. Not ideal for anyone with young children or who lacks mobility.Difficult to find!. The bar closed too early. While I appreciate the relaxed attitude and warmth provided by the night staff, I can't help but feel their talents could have been used behind the bar, perhaps til 5 ish.Getting there by foot was a littel hard, especially with luggage trying to cross a busy roundabout. I would like to have a choice of continental breakfast as well as a good cooked breakfast.yes the price for a continetal breakfast was outrageous as you only got a selection of cereall and toast or fruit...for £6.25...i expected a cooked breakfast for that price... i was under the impression you could get a drink anytime at the bar but was unable to get a drink of water when i asked the night staff as he refused to get it. The restaurant area was freezing and kind of in the hallway - this time of year not brilliant. people running up and down the hallways most of the night was a bit of a put off which is why i'm not answering the question below.Hot water not that hot. Room booked in March was not available but the staff was able to rectify the problem but still did not get the type of room booked months in advance. It is somewhat difficult to find the hotel entrance while driving, butotherwise the hotel was excellent for a visit to Cardiff.Our reservation didnt show but I gave them my print out and we werefine, the key system was not good for us we had to have it 're-cut' 2-3times a day!!! Staff were really good and very helpful. Would have liked a proper dining room but appreciate the price reflected the facilities available.The breakfast. depressing view of blank wall; any chance of planting a few trees?. Did not have a lot of choice for breakfast. I think shower cartain should be there.
